I would be surprised if they made animals no longer respawn, and not breedable. They aren't stupid and they would see the consequences. So please don't bother them on twitter, it would obviously be annoying, remember the emerald block problem?
Remember how they fixed it, because everyone tweeted? Remember how they informed the community they wanted it that way?You must have a loud voice to get attention.
If they made this error on the PC im sure they wont make the same error twice?
Breeding should be in 1.8 anyway. It's a major function of the game that I find unusual we'll have to wait so long for. It's the same way with enchanting and brewing. Yeah, 1.8 will be exciting as is, but I feel they should have bumped us to 1.0.0 and then onto 1.2.3.

I agree, but that would prolong the update by at least a week or two. Maybe a month
Very true, but it is 4J studios choice and they think this is best. I truthfully want to get my hands on creative as soon as possible
I've got a friend who is the same way. He really, really wants Creative mode. He's worried, however, that 4J will not implement it properly (option to switch between Creative/Survival at will in Multiplayer, etc.). He seems really concerned about it. Unfortunately, he doesn't play much because Creative isn't in. Then, I have another friend who is actually waiting on 1.8 before he buys it. Makes sense, I suppose.

Many people just want to build. That is why we use the dupe glitch or just not play. I am truthfully most excited about the new blocks being added, but for the survival players we need this. Also, it makes for a more realistic farm
If we could toggle between creative and survival mode, that would also solve the problem. Go to creative get wool, food, etc.... Go back to survival and use as needed....... Just a thought. I'd still rather have some breeding enabled though.
Hmm. Logic would dictate that maybe you should kill the animals if they won't respawn. Just a thought. Without animals as a food source, you'll still have mushrooms, bread, watermelons, and zombie feet. If you're worried about wool running out, stop using it for a while.
There are many ways to either just ignore or get around the animal persistence in the next update that it shouldn't matter. Plus, making them pull something forward and add it to arguably the biggest Minecraft update in the games history would probably cause the update to take even longer to come out.

You could say this about every feature. This one feature is a basic fundamental feature to the game and these forums would erupt with frustration if they didnt do this. It is better to prolong the update by a day or two then not have this feature.

If they had to put in breeding, it would delay the update by more than a day or two.
Also, the forums will erupt with frustration even if they do it. People will still find something to complain about.
Moving over to PC is also an option, instead of us always feeling like the youngest brother who has to wear the older brother's hand-me-downs. Seriously considering doing it on Aug 1 when 1.3 comes out, but I'm also a cheapskate and hate the idea of turning a $20 game into a $47 one and turning my xbox back into the dust collector it was before minecraft came out (since I really don't enjoy too many other xbox games).
People saying that animals won't respawn doesn't make any sense...if that were true I doubt they would have implemented the fact that untamed wolves attack and kill sheep all the time....Another thing is that I have killed hundreds of pigs for pork chops just around the area where I am building and they still appear without me having to leave my little area to find them...so I really don't believe this claim is true at all

Two reasons we are doing this. 1) To remind them to do this. 2) To confirm they are doing this. I would rather know that they are doing this then not

I'd wait an extra month. It'd be better than waiting the 2-3 more months after 1.8 for the next update.

Not everyone likes farming. And you are forgeting about sheeps wool, because I don't think they regrow wool in this update

Tamable.
I think they are neutral. I cannot confirm whther or not the update effects them

They should still respawn shouldn't they? Just because they wont despawn doesn't mean if you kill some more wont spawn
