I've searched and watched about 50 YouTube videos and used the slime finding website. I've dug out about 15 chunks one of them being 3 connected together and also tired varying levels from bedrock to about 10 above bedrock and haVe yet to have a single slime spawn. Super frustrating considering all I like to do is build cool contraptions.
a few suggestions for finding slime 1. light chunks with glowstone that don't block them from spawning (in ceiling or in ground) 2. check coordinates are correct (slime finder sometimes is off so I make the chunks a bit wider) 3. No unlit caves surrounding chunks, I use normal or hard to check for monsters or unlit caves by sound( not mandatory) Are the floor to ceiling 3 blocks high ? are you on peaceful? are you waiting at least 24 blocks away ? ( i wait 40-50 away) did you wait at least half an hour ? it takes about 5-10 mins but sometimes longer up to 30 mins. I can help you tomorrow night around 8 Est if you add me I'll look up your map coordinates and check your farm sometimes just one of these things will prevent the slime from spawning fo rme it was a wall of 5 blocks at the end of my farm that stopped it i took them out and boom slimes all the time...bt GT is on the left
I looked at the slime finder and found an area with chunks together.I went down to bedrock and built cleared an area 20x40x5 high. I then went up a ladder 10 blocks from the edge and 30 up and waited. After 20 min still no slime. So i went mining and fought some mobs for a bit. When I came back I had 3 BIG and 2 MEDIUM slime. I don't know if fighting other mobs helped or was a coincidence, but I have slime now. I should also say I placed torches every other block on the perimeter 3 blocks up. I also ran a few rows of blocks on the ceiling and placed torches on those blocks as well
Ok I'll try digging up above my large room and see if I can light up anything close I def hear other mobs occasionally but after mining up for a bit can't find a cave. Well see maybe ill just make it like 10-15 blocks tall of openness
When you went up 30 blocks to wait there were probably caves around you where other monsters were spawning. Like others said light up those caves and you will have an endless supply of slimes. It worked for me. In your spawner you can make multi levels that spawn, so it doubles the productivity and likely hood of slimes spawning.
If you need assistance with your slime farm or just finding slimes give me a shout I am pretty much bored of my world and maybe I can find enjoyment helping others Oh and a good amount of TNT is great for clearing out chunks and lots of sand and gravvel for killing lava.
Yeah I managed to get one large slime to spawn while I was right there clearing more blocks above the room killed it and duped the slime so I don't have to worry about it just playing for fun first world so don't care too much gonna start a fresh world soon once I learn more so it's all laid out nicely
