ok, so I'm in my work room trying to go to bed only to be constantly awakened by a freaking skeleton or zombie. the room is about 5 x 11, 8 windows, closed double doors and literally 11 torches. how
is this happening? btw, only been playing for about 3 weeks so kind of a n00b.

zombies can open double doors and can get in

i would add more torches by the door and the bed

and make it a single door (if its wood door)
if (iron door) you can make a double with like a button to open

At least not yet, they can in 1.2

consider moving your bed around the room. in other threads that had a similar problem that was the solution provided by forum members.

Put your bed in an enclosed space makinng it smaller than your current room with torches but dont make it too small or you might suffocate yourself, it helped me a couple of times.

I made a 2 x3 room bed,, chest at the bottom window and door on the other wall lights on all 4 walls....zombie when I slept til I put the decking under the window.....

Thanks for the advice everyone. I made it a single door instead of a double door. Plus, I made a small room with a single door just for the bed. so far, so good. thanks again!

Yeah, mobs don't open the doors but, it's a known bug having them spawn while sleeping near them. 2 blocks of dirt can solve it but, seems ya fixed the problem already. Sleep tight!!!

No they can't. They can only break down doors on the PC version.

make sure your bed isn't next to a wall it can glitch out and wake u up with monsters

just wondering, but what difficulty does others play on. I play on easy(at times) and have never had anything wake me up. The room I am in is huge. Is like 10 blocks away from surface. not like I sleep all that much while playing.

Now I do have the outside lit up like a christmas tree. I also made sure there wasn't any open areas near me.

It's just weird to hear so many people having this issue.
