Are you able to update your world for 1.8? I made a really big world with my friends and they probably not want to start it all over again, so is there any way to update the world to 1.8 when it comes out. I've explored most of my world except for the corners of it, by the way. Even if it's possible to just get a new world and move all the houses and stuff to there I would still be fine... Just we put a lot of work into it.
Thanks in Advance, -TACO
the only thing that will happen to your worlds when 1.8 comes out is u wont get the new biomes and generated structures everything else you get like new crafting recipies etc

You can still use your world when 1.8.2 comes out, but you won't get any of the new terrain generation changes, such as abandoned mineshafts, except for in the areas you haven't explored. There is no way to move your structures to a new world either.
So if I had, lets say, seed "1246735" and all my houses were in it and i fully explorered the world already, then there would be no abandoned mineshafts, correct? Then If I deleted that world and reentered the same seed number would it be updated with mineshafts, at the cost of having none of my houses?

Yes, and no. Normally this should work, but in 1.8, the terrain generation completely changes, so the same seed won't produce the same world from before 1.8 and after 1.8.
Ok thanks even though I had to start a new world due to griefing :/ Which I am using the same seed and being more smart when it comes to exploring the world...
