Hey everybody, I followed the guys link from my earlier post and did what it told me to do but no help I waited the 10 mins and went back down to the slime room but there was no slimes. Can anyone help me in game? If so please send me G00FTR00P a friend request or comment here with what you think might be the problem.
How far from the spawn room did you wait? You need to be at least 25 blocks away. Also, 10 minutes is not nearly enough for Slimes to spawn. Try 30 minutes, or more.

What's the seed?
I waited around 45 blocks because I heard some people say 25 and some people say 40 so I figured around 40 to be on the safe side. Also I heard that it was 10 mins for a bunch of slimes, I guess not though. The seed was 491478021867380057 it is a randomly generated seed.
You couldve replied in the slime thread instead of making yet another slime thread. 24-30 is probably the best distance, also you have to light up nearby caves this is the main problem most people have with slimes not spawning. Just remember mobs can spawn from 24-128 blocks away from you (in a radius) so caves could be near your waiting point.

This is not true. While waiting longer certainly HELPS, 10 minutes is the minimum time needed, under ideal circumstances, for a slime to spawn. I can confirm this, as I waited exactly 10 minutes and found 1 large slime. I would not recommend waiting a full 30 minutes to confirm your spawner is working correctly. You could spend hours wasted in this way just to learn you have a large cave system ruining your room. 15 minutes is more than enough, though 10 will do, to see if a single slime has spawned. Once you can confirm everything is in working order, you can wait however long you wish. That first time, though, working with minimums is best because it does not waste time. Given that we all die one day, time is a bit of an extremely valuable resource.
does slim spawn at 45 blocks? pretty sure they dont spawn when your that far away.
like any hostile mob, slimes will not spawn within 24 meters (spherical) of any player. Similarly, slimes will despawn after some time if no player is within 32 meters, and despawn instantly if no player is within 128 meters. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Slime#Spawning
Look, it's actually quite simple, if you know where the spawn chunk is, and you understand that only so many mobs will spawn in a given chunk at one time, and that they all will de-spawn once you get 128 blocks away from them.
1. Build a rail line running 150 blocks away from the spawn chunk. If it's at the level of the slime farm, so much the better.
2. See if there are slimes in the farm.
3. No slimes? Hop on the rail line & ride it to a distance far enough away that all the mobs in the spawn chunk de-spawn.
4. Ride it back. When you get within 128 of the farm (and if the rail is at this level, the farm will be the FIRST area in that chunk to get "in range"), the chunk will re-spawn mobs, and you have another chance of getting slimes to spawn.
I don't get how many people are still having trouble. It's easy as:
1. Find slime chunk, dig out 16x16 or more
2. Light up caves/dark places (use the damn x-ray glitch if you have to, 100% guarantee your slime farm will work)
3. have patience and wait 25-30 blocks away from slime chunk
That's it.

Works for me, anyway.
