So as many of you probably know, Microsoft has some avatar props to buy that are based off of the Minecraft game. Out of curiosity I wanted to see what they had come up with and something caught my eye, "Chicken Piston". It was a prop that had a chicken on a piston (shocking I know) and when the piston shot up, so did the chicken. Feathers flew and so did the chicken for a bit.
Now I'm thinking to myself, since I started playing Minecraft last year, I had never had a reason to have a chicken on a piston and wondered to myself if this may have been a neat little easter egg. I spent about 30 mins hunting down a chicken, fencing the little bugger in (which took pretty much all of the 30 mins. lol) and then building a piston under him.
Once I had completed it I took a step back, braced myself for the awesomeness sure to follow, only to be let down by the chicken getting push one block, not being bothered by any of it and running off, leaving me there with nothing but a fenced in piston.... Stupid chickens
A pet piston, Good idea It would be cool if it worked though. Maybe after breeding is introduced and you can lure it in with wheat try again..... Just a thought. At least you were entertained for 30 min.. That's always good. No harm in trying even if it fails IMO.
Well in Minecraft I usually do have too much time, I can't build anything ascetically pleasing to save my life, so I generally muck about while someone else does the work Last night was just that, my buddy was building two towers on a castle, so I took it apon myself to chase some chickens around. Hey anything to keep me off Skyrim for a night is good in my book lol

LOL I suck at building too. all my homes look lopsided so I'm w/you on that. I'm more of an explorer/hunter
You know you've spent too much time on Minecraft when...
...you literally, physically begin crying when you realize your saved game file is corrupt and your world - and all the time and effort you put into it - is gone.
Me and my friends just went thru this. One hasn't returned to the game yet, and the other is still playing but struggling with emotions. Another friend had it happen to his world and he switched over to PC and left us behind.
It's just a silly game... it's just a silly game... it's just a silly game...
I find my biggest problem is getting distracted I have so many great ideas of things to build illl start 1 get half way through start something new and get half way through before I start another 1 and get a half way through. So I've got half of a castle wall half a castle half an underground city and half an underwater house

Yea I'm good for comic relief and redstone mechanics. I love figuring out how to wire something up, even if it takes all night. I am crazy about making sure nothing is lopsided, however this usually mean cube houses with a few holes for windows

Thankfully (and knock on wood ) I have not have a game save corrupt. I feel for man... I would be bummed if I hopped on to see that.

Nice! Your post just reminded me of ManBearPig Half man, Half Bear, Half pig lol I also tend to get distracted, I started building a water elevator out of our slime spawner, got bored and made a sign that said "Up Elevator... Not working" lol came back a finished it a few days later.
You have to put the piston in a parallel circuit to increast the velocity...
As much as I feel as though this is a lie, I need to venture over to the redstone forums and figure out A) what a parallel circuit is, if it exists (I've never heard of one) and if it does increase velocity, because if it does, good lord the traps I could make lol
Girlfriend: "What are you doing? Why are you running around in circles?"
Me: "I'm chasing chickens, hoping they'll poop out an egg."
Girl: "How long have you been doing that?"
Me: "2 hours. 2 hours of chasing chickens, sleeping, and chasing chickens."
Girl: "Wow! How many eggs do you have?"
Me: "Five."
Girl: ~silence~
Me: "Yeah, I HATE chickens."
Once I can lure them places, they will regret they ever played hard-to-get.
When you play for more than an hour or two? (Keep in mind I'm wayyyyyyyyyyy guilty of this)
An hour or two? That's a short game night for me Once I'm on minecraft I'm pretty much there until something else makes me leave, which would be sleep, hunger, work or Skyrim.

Well that escalated quickly...
