o.k, so i have been working on the piece of hell for awhile now! It started with some platform's floating In there, but took them down because they would just stand there with a dumb look on there faces, lol that's why the room is so big.
The back is like that because with the flick of a leaver it floods and pushes anything into the trench, which is the only thing working at the moment...... (Flood and trench)
It is 32x32. The pillar in the back is the middle, main trench leading them to there doom! Its there so it flood's the whole back platform.
If you look closely you can see i had to add a extra layer of cobble so they could not get out, although it could of been because they seen me and wanted a hug?!?
It spawned them like crazy but they would not dump out so i made those changes thinking it would work wonders! Like mob's on demand, lol Unfortunately it did not.
O and i am 15+ down and 10+ away from where they dump out so 42+ away from the back. Depends where i am at.
lmao um.. you still need to clarify what youre asking you said alot and showed some pics and it still makes no sense. Is it the mobs not showing up? .. the water not pushing them where you want ? And as far as your intelligence I've seen some really dumb posts on here asking about mobs when they are on peaceful maybe you have a brain but not everyone does
Had 3x3 floating platform's and it worked great. now that they are gone, When i go up there to see whats going on, there's very few if any. sometimes it stay's empty. And i do keep my distance! Before when i checked w/ the 3x3 platform's still in there there were 15-20 easy.
I just don't know what to try/change anymore.
btw the pic is just to show the room, can't take a pic of a room as dark as that one,so i added torches, lol
I've found the most common issue with mob trap problems is when mobs spawn in other areas nearby. I had one trap that just never worked very well until I noticed the cavern a few layers below that was full of angry mobs. Once that was properly lit, it changed the spawn rate dramatically.
Also, hard to tell from the pics, but do you have any trap doors or signs on the edges of your canals? I've heard that helps when trying to make sure they fall into the waterways.

If it was working fine with the platforms in why did you remove them?
They just stood there for the most part, and i could not flood the platforms, kinda want a mob spawner i can turn on and off and flood it to push them all out
On my shared world with my partner we have our slime farm not to far away from our mob trap. So turning either off was essential to get decent spawns from either of them. I just setup holes above the spawning pads with a sticky piston extending/retractin over the hole with a glowstone above, then wired it down to a lever to turn on/off the lights. Slime farm has washable pads so if I leave the water on no slimes can spawn
o.k, so I think I found the problem. Used the x-ray bug to have a peak around and seen this cave system around it.... What a pain, lol
If this don't work.... I quit! lol
Hard to see, but the spawner is on the left and cave's to the right and below it.
Check it out, still going to lite some more caves up later.
Before
And after
About 4 stacks of torches later....But it Works!!!!
So happy, I can flood it to push whats in there out and leave it flooded so none will spawn. Hard to see but there are a few creepers in the spawner.
BTW I hope they never fix that x-ray bug, Harmless and great for problems like this.
