So ok we can use lava to fuel our furnace. My problem is why do we lose the bucket. Yes I know you dont in later versions but I have a finite world. Iron is precious. Give us our buckets back. What do you guys think?
I have never used a lava bucket in a furnace. I always have a full double chest of coal from exploring caves. More than enough for me & my needs.
You should always get your bucket back, no matter how it's used. Every bucket lost is a pickaxe that could have been put to better use.

Yeah, a lava bucket is only good for 100 smelts. Should be way more. Like 256. lol
later on it's good for like 1000 isn't it?
Agreed 256 at the very least, its freakin Lava!
Nope, it's always 100. It burns for 1000 seconds, not 1000 blocks.
I'm not sure, haven't played Minecraft on the PC for a while. The wiki still says 100. It does however have a burn time of 1000 seconds.
Tempting...
One of the first worlds I created I never found any iron on, they did a good job of hiding it if it had 600,000 pieces in it
Now shitty brown mushrooms... I can believe i have over 6 million
There are around 4000 chunks on the map. Each chunk is 16x16x128. There is about an average of 84 Iron Ore per chunk.
