For sanity's sake, we will make an average number.
Armed with infinite diamond pickaxes, we will say that...
Coal takes roughly 45 seconds to find a vein. Gold takes about 120 seconds. (I'm being generous, here)
That being said, a vein is what, 4 or 5? A gold vein is usually 2 or 3.
Now, coal takes roughly 9 seconds to find one coal, averaging that a vein is 5 coal and it takes 45 seconds to find one.
Now, gold takes roughly 60 seconds to find one gold ore, averaging that a vein is 2 gold and it takes 120 seconds to find one.
If you needed/used 124,688 units of coal, it would have taken you roughly 1,122,192 seconds, not counting mining times.
If you needed/used 787,500 units of gold, it would have taken you roughly 47,250,000 seconds, not counting mining times, again.
Gathering these resources alone would take you 48,372,192 seconds.
That's 806,203 minutes.
That's 13,436 hours.
That's 559 days.
Minecraft has been out, for the Xbox, since May 9th, 2012.
That's 77 days.
This build would have taken far beyond 559 days. Minecraft has been available to the general public for 77 days.
But wait! You said you did this build with, what, 3 people?
Mining efficiency.
186 days. Still over the 77 day limit. Sorry.
I'm not saying that you claimed for this to be legit. You'll probably admit to duping after this.
Just wanted to do some math to prove this, really.
Duplication is really obvious when you actually think about it.
So saying you'll "leave it a mystery" is ridiculous, judging off of mathematics and time.
I left out minor variables, albeit many were in your favor.
It still comes out as an absurd number.
But still, It's cool and does look impressive, but the outside looks really boring, and the inside only has 2 colours
Precisely. See the link I posted in Pepsolman's "EPIC MANSIONS ARE OVERRATED" thread to see a real, legitimate structure that is incredible. I have the common decency not to post it in this thread, as that'd be rude, haha.

who in the **** is this dude and what is he talking about
I see you like math, huh? I would've never put that much thinking into a forum post. However, I just figured he duped after I saw all that gold and glowstone. Common sense FTW!
I agree it's an awesome build... I just hope the save file can stand the test of time just like the temple itself.....
yes me and helpfull builders will be very sad if an update deletes this gamesave. I have also built a giant digital clock so it will be terrible if it does...
Actually, I was referring to the possible corruption from duping, Not any type of update. I do wish You well and think it's a cool build. I can't wait for creative just to avoid such problems....... Got any pics/vids of that clock or is it in another thread?????

I remember that. I could care less if ya duped or not. My concern is losing the work because of the corruption it may cause. Very Impressive, Great Work and I again wish you the best. Thank you for sharing!!!!! You know my name if ya need an extra hand for a future build, Props again if the USMC tag is legit!!!! We need more......

Appretciate the offer. Maybe sometime in the future.
^^^ These two posts contradict each other. It seems very vague when you say it's a mystery (spelled correctly, by the way), yet I'm supposed to know it's obvious? GTFO, you trollin' 'cause you jelly. Leave, kid...
That guy was someone with wayyyyy too much time on his hands. Just by looking at the pics, you can tell it's duped. There's no need for a giant long mathematical post to prove it.
Actually, it didn't take much time.

Hm...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A world is 1024x1024 blocks.
That is a total of 1,048,576 blocks per elevation level.
You mined out over a third of that?
Judging from the pictures, I want to say this build is about 60% smooth stone, 25% gold blocks, and 15% glowstone or other.
The totals are now as follows.
Stone = 210,000
Gold Blocks = 87,500
Glowstone = 52,500
That being said, gold blocks are a whopping nine gold ingots.
87,500 multiplied by 9 brings us to...
787,500 gold ingots.
Okay, so a chunk (16x16*256) is composed of 65,536 blocks.
You would have needed to find over 12 chunks of GOLD ORES. Entirely.
Next, to cook 210,000 cobblestone and 787,500 gold ores, you would have needed a whopping amassment of coal.
210,000 added to 787,500 brings us to...
997,500 blocks.
One coal, provided that's what you used to burn in a furnace, provides heat for 8 items.
997,500 divided by 8 is
124,688 coal.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now let's crunch the time estimates, shall we?
For sanity's sake, we will make an average number.

It's so easy to do math these days with the advancements in calcutater technology (a calcutater is a potato-power calculator).
I disagree. The calcutater makes math delicious!
