Hey, I recently built a piston bridge partially underwater on my Xbox. The bridge is pretty long, requiring three repeaters per side to get a signal to the end.
My problem is while I can turn bridge on and lower the blocks, and raise them again from my switch on the land side, i cannot find a way to raise or lower the bridge from the seaside.
Here is a brief description of what I have done so far.
The bridge is two pistons wide and 70 pistons long. The pistons all have a redstone torch underneath them so their default position is on.
I have a switch on the land side that runs down to the level below the torch block. This circuit splits to both sides and is two block away from the block the torches reside on. I then alternate two dusts and two repeaters almost all the way down.
The exception to this is where I need repeaters to get the switches signal to the end.

I wanted to make it where if I ran over a pressure plate on the far end, the bridge would go down underwater and stay down, but Ill be happy if I can just get another lever on the far side to have any effect. Or, a pressure plate to drop the bridge down and a lever to raise the bridge again so I can go back across.
Now, the problem I am having is I can get the pressure plate and lever to work on the far side, but only about 5 pistons back. If I try to add a repeater circuit back in going the other way, I am not sure of the term, but I am creating I guess an endless power loop.
As shown in the picture, I have a loop that keeps the bridge lowered constantly. After this, I can no longer raise or lower that section that is powered by my new return repeater. The only way to reset is break the circuit somewhere in the power loop.
Is there any way to do what I am trying to accomplish? My work area is about 5 blocks underwater in a two high by 4 on either side of the pistons wide area. Any help?
Also, very new to the circuits (this is actually the first thing i built using them, so all names for the circuits and switches need to be explained if there is a solution.
I am thinking of running a separate wire from the pressure plate on the seaside end of the bridge all the way back to my original switch, and keeping it separate from the wiring of the bridge itself, Will this fix it?

Glad to hear a separate wire should work... Now I need to make another tunnel, underwater, all the way back...

Will the pressure plates cause the switch to change its setting?
Basically, if its on, and i run a wire connected to a pressure plate back and trip the plate, will it shut off, and vice versa?
Actually, sorry that might not work. The problem would be they are already powered because of the switch. The pressure plate won't keep them up if you wanted to go back. Hopefully someone else can help.
Replace the lever on the one side with a monostable circuit set to a button. On the end place a pressure plate going to a piston that kills the monostable circuit.

That just sounds confusing. do you have a screen shot? And will the pressure plate on the far end turn the bridge back on too?

The wire on the left comes all the way back from the far end, with about 5 repeaters, the wire at the bottom is the output, and the other input loops around the back.
