Even after the last update, I cannot find clay! I started a new world and have found 40 at the most with over an hour of searching the beaches. Is this normal?
Clay is still pretty rare but they usually come in large patches. Keep digging aroudn the area you found clay. I usually find 2 1/2 stacks of clay per clay deposit
I guess some people are just luckier than others when it comes to clay. I found enough to make two stacks of brick blocks on my primary world, not even actively looking for it. When we get ocean biomes, I believe the ocean floors contain a good amount of clay.
Are you serious? Ugh, as if the game wasn't easy enough. The should make everything rarer, there's no challenge at all if everything becomes easy to find.
I don't see how more clay makes the game any easier. Clay is a pretty commonplace material that has been used for a very very long time.
Just note that it can look pretty similar to stone if you're not looking carefully. I mostly find it in and around water.

Umm.. what? How does the ability to build more than one or two brick houses translate to easier gameplay? Minecraft isn't meant to be difficult, that would take the fun out of it. If taking forever to find something is fun to you, go play a point-&-click mystery game.

Diamonds become 25% more rare in the next update. Happy?
I've made two new worlds since the update and I haven't found anything.
Post the seed numbers Ill take a look round if you wantIn the UK most houses are made from brick. It is rare to see wooden ones. Its not surprising people want more clay when its what they see in real life.
Search every beach, and sometimes you might confuse it with stone. Also, search around the ocean floor near beaches. I have about 4 or 5 stacks of bricks on my world, and I've barely searched. Ten again... I do have the best seed of all time, and I literally have stacks of everything
I have created a new world and did gone to a big Clay discovery tour. At the end I had 2624 Clay in my pocket (full inventory)! I'm right sure there is more of it on the map. Aside of this, I must say it is the most beautyfull world I have ever created, as all bioms are there: Snow, Tundra, Sand, Woody nice mountains, funny rock formations and more.
The seed of this wonderfull world is: 8728279966476453267
In my test world I found enough clay to make a decent size brick house and still have a stack of 64 clay with a good portion of the world still unexplored. It just depends on where you look and how your world generates. Just don't drown trying to get it from underwater like I almost did a couple of times.

really? I thought there were like 12,000 per map. There's going to be fewer now?(I've only found 88 diamonds so far now)

And that seed would be...????
