I know people say that minecraft will not go on xbox (thats what ive heard) but some people cant buy a xbox and dont want to trade in thier ps3 for an xbox because they have games on it that they enjoy that isnt on xbox and others will buy an xbox aswell but cant get the online so comment below saying your vote

There is a contract that minecraft will only be on xbox there is no way that PS3 will have it.

never.. if they really want minecraft, they can get it on the computer. the only good thing ps3 is good for is little big planet. Other than that, its a worthless inventioned based off (copied) of every other game console developed

The problem isn't that it's only on xbox. You already know that, and why.
The problem is that you can't/won't go out and get an xbox.

There's always Christmas or your birthday. I'd start with the hints now if I was you....

I wouldn't be surprised if MC was released for the PS3. After all, there are more than enough games out there that were supposed to be released to only one platform and ended up being multi-platform titles even if it took a couple of years.

Best example I can think of is Resident Evil 4. Shinji Mikami (Mr. Resident Evil) touted that RE4 would be absolutely 100% exclusive to the GameCube, and in an interview with a Japanese magazine even claimed that he'd cut off his own head if it wasn't. Yet lo and behold, RE4 was announced to be released for the PS2 as well before development was finished, and hit the shelves nine months after the GameCube version. And today, in addition to GameCube and PS2, RE4 is also available for Wii, PS3, Xbox360, Windows, and various mobile platforms including iPhone and iPad.

I'm not saying that MC is going to be released for the PS3. No one knows that. But I definitely wouldn't bet money on MC never becoming available for that console.

Likely, but not necessarily. Any console developer or platform owner can sign a contract with a game developer to have that game be available only on their platform. In plain English, there could very well be a clause in the Microsoft-Mojang contract that forbids MC being ported to any other or just certain other platforms. I don't think that's the case, but it's a possibiliy you shouldn't dismiss.

(20) Will minecraft be for PS3 Also?
Minecraft is be an Xbox / PC / Pocket-Edition exclusive game.
Notch signed a deal with Micrososoft. Its Exclusive.

The question now is " how long is this contract in effect"?

How many games have you quit playing?

I wouldn't worry about it.
You'll move on to another game a long time before that contract expires.
