As you all know, this edition of minecraft is slightly flawed. As a long-time player of the PC/Mac version of Minecraft, it is disappointing to play on a very limited server with a lot of your friends. Not only is there a small map, but it is barely even close to being updated. I know all of you are reading this post and being like "What a fagg, hating on xbox minecraft..." So let me switch the subject!

I only have one question to ask...

What do you guys think the future of this minecraft version will be?

so what if its 3M sale? Whats gonno happen after we all get disappointed with the updates? who will buy DLC's How will 4j or who ever made the game make money? Exactly bruh

Why would we be disappointed with the updates? We'll be nearly up to date with the PC in only two more updates, and 4J has stated that they will do as much as they can about the world size (whether that means they will find a way or not has yet to be seen). I think you should do some more research before you damn the Xbox version to hell.

Exactly. I can't play on PC; Minecraft overheats my laptop after a half hour or so (mind you, my laptop has some decent specs)! So the XBox version, while not as flexible, at least allows me to play for extended periods of time. Plus multiplayer is so much easier than it is on PC.

I think 4J Studios is going to have the money (and the support) to take the XBox version in a different direction than its PC counterpart. But we'll see.

The Xbox 360 Editions true future is in the different directions it goes that separate it from the PC.

Not sure how it would work with minecraft but I know in Grand Theaft Auto it is constantly reading from hard drive as you go through out the city. Maybe they can go at it this way. It would probably make the install larger but thats fine with me anyway.

I agree, XBOX edition is here to stay. Not everyone has a gaming PC. We will play minecraft in the current and future states, its the game we love but not enough to go out and buy a new copy and a new pc just to play the current pc version. Rather than stating what will happen to the xbox version, your question should be what will happen to the Minecraft versions once everyone gets bored ot it. As ft people will. Did people get bored of lego?

They shouldn't take too far in a different direction. Everyone I know bought it as an alternative to the PC.

I dunno, I say a version of minecraft that doesn't require me to do all kinds of crap to my PC to fix mistakes they made programming it is infinitely better. When mods finally come, I won't have to worry about whats compatible or how to install them.

I have to say I've been worried about this... although maybe I'm not the best judge since I've never played the pc version but I dont duplicate so for me building something takes planning and time. I cant just jump into something because first I have to clear the land either making a false ground or in some cases removing a mountain. ( since I'm on seed 10110101 ) In a way having to clear the land is a bit annoying it also gives me a sense of pride to know I built something the same way I would in the real world(if as a better builder) I dont know if the future of minecraft will be better or worse, I am nervous but hopeful.

Mods aren't coming. DLC is what we're getting instead.

From what they've said, The Xbox 360 Edition will be getting everything the PC has, but Mojang, 4J and Microsoft want to take the Xbox version in other directions.

DLC, Mods, semantics. Addons which modify the game are coming. If they actually take things like Hack/Mine then its not just DLC anymore...its straight up new game.

It took how many years to get the Pc version to where it is. I would like it to be the same but I respect the time it would take to get it up to speed with the Pc. Its not that easy.

They aren't just copying mods for DLC, they're making their own. They're taking inspiration from popular PC mods, but they arne't just going to take one from the PC and slap it onto the Xbox.

Plus, our DLC will cost $$$ while mods are free.

To someone who's friends all play xbox and their computer is too crappy to play Minecraft on PC on far view distance, MC360 is a great alternative. No FPS drops, split screen, aaaaaaaand well that's just about it BUT it's still Minecraft.
