The next update, which would typically be 1.8, is basically the preparation of the "RPG" update afterwards, where we get experience(later-ish) for enchanting and endermen with strongholds...for the boss...which will require alchemy to locate and activate the stronghold, which will require the nether have a stronghold for blazes. and Then the thought came to me. This world is awfully small to accomplish all of that effectively. The nether is so incredibly small, I can see both ends. The world would be small enough anyway that we wouldn't need eye's of ender to find the stronghold, but we still would need to activate it, so as long as we're lucky enough to have blazes spawn-able in the nether we won't have to generate another world...also we'll have 3-4? new biomes? in my world it only consisted of 2. 3 if you count mountain ranges as one. But what I'm mainly worried about is how 4j is pulling this off? my favorite part (and point IMO) of minecraft, is the limitlessness. The world wont seem so vast after this, is anyone aware of what ≡kinda≡ will be done?
There have been many debates about this. All we know is that 4J plans to do whatever they can to make sure these new features work properly. I think we should have faith in them They aren't going to let us down or do something to make the game un-fun.
I have faith as well, I've come up with one simple-ish idea, If we could make portals that would enable us to transport to another "Map", thus continuing the world but separating the memory? if there was a way we could do that, i would be fine.

That is the same idea that every other person on the forum has come up with.
I would prefer an increase in the world size because it would allow us to add these new things to fully explored maps. (Even if it was only a small border around the outside.) But the world-transfer work around is a brilliant idea imo. I'm sure that 4j will figure something out. I have faith that 4j will find a way to quell these worries.
