How i usually start off a new map is i First cut small trees down then make a Workbench. Then i make a wooden pick axe then mine like 10 cobbles stone for axes and exc. Then i go look for iron and coal, Coal mainly but iron second. When i find i make a iron pickaxe,axe, shovel and hoe. Then i build a house to live in Forawile. I usually perfer to play on anything but i usually would like to play a game of hard but i dont have many freinds that like doing that so i usually play on easy. Gt: taylor iz bad if you would like to play sometime

My asnwer is i like to build houses, build realistic homes, realistic big buildings

All minecraft games start by punching a tree.

First priority - a bunch of wood and eleven cobblestone. I use the wood to build a small hut and to make charcoal. I use the eleven cobble for a furnace and a pick.

Punch three tree blocks. Craft Workbench, sticks and a wood pick. Immediately mine stone so I spend the exact minimum amount of time with wood objects as possible. From there, it's random.

Potions were added in 1.9. They're not in this next update.

All depends on where your spawn site is. If you are no where near trees or coal time to deciide do you walk a day to find them. If this is the case then I walk to the side of a solid block (usually dirt) and dig a 2x3 hole to hide the night in.( I put a block in the fron of me to stop mobs attacking. While I explore the whole map trying to find a good area Im very often in another 2x3 hole for the 2nd night too.

Yes, i start off by making a slime farm

Cheap shelter. Explore till I find an ideal settlement area. Explore till I find a skeleton spawner. Convert to grinder. Use bone to farm tree and start building.

Get some wooden tools then immediately start mining for coal and iron, then find a spot and start building.

I usually play on hard but I tend to start off by lopping down 2 trees and then making a pick, a furnace, and torches. I roam the world for a while and then I find a good place (like a hollow mountain) that looks good and I just build a wall or something to keep the mobs out!
After I get resources, I really like to make BIG PROJECTS!! I conquer a big piece of the map and then I build a big fort over like a whole quarter of the map. Thats why I like pc Minecraft... bigger maps to build in. But Xbox is still pretty awesome!

Set it to peaceful and take a look around for an area with good resources. I really don't like having to haul resources across half a map! Once I find an area with sheep, wood, and a good prospective mine; I make a set of wooden tools and go to work mining. Then it's a set of stone tools and looking to build a permanent shelter. I like to make "castles" with a surrounding village. I, also, prefer smaller builds so that I don't feel bogged down or like I'm never going to finish the build. Once I have a suitable building and some food and other resources in hand, I'll do farms and turn the monsters on for awhile. That being said, if I am working on something large it's peaceful only. I just don't want to deal with nightime and creepers while hanging off the side of a cliff building a tower.
