Me and my friends were recently playing Minecraft and came up with a great idea, which as of now we are calling "Minecraft wars" Basicaly, You split up into 2 different teams. Each team calls a side of the map after you split it in half top bottom, left or right, Doesnt matter, whatever seems fair. After you choose your teams and sides, Set the auto save for 45 Miniutes. Make sure the difficulty is on peaceful for now, The intervals are for gathering resources, Building your base, and Defenses, and generally just setting up. After 2 of these intervals (You could always make it longer) Save the game and change the difficulty to easy. After just one more interval the game starts. The objective is to raid the other teams base and destroy (or capture) Their object of interest. in my case we used a Pumpkin. Each team must set torches on their main base to indicate the location of the objective. The team who destroys the objective is the winning team. This idea has actually worked out very well for us thanks to the terrain of minecraft ( many strategical outlooks, ways to get into the other bases, etc.) We are trying to get a 4 on 4 game going so if anyone would like to try this idea out Send me a friend request. My Gamertag is UnloaD o Purple, Accepting any and all. Hope to play with you guys soon!
It all depends on what you wanna do like i said u dont HAVE to use 45 minutes lol. But if u want like a long awesome war going on then you cud up the intervals. I like the idea of a war with strategic points but thats just me lol
Sounds like a great idea. You could also use the game autosave timer as your counter. Save the game before starting set it to how ever long 15 mins interval you want to play to win for. 15 mins 30 mins 45 mins which ever. If the game autosaves before the you have the objective then no one wins. This way you can also use it to say by the time autosave sets you have to come back to a certain point and show how much stuff you collected and not just use it to capture stuff. Example collect as much iron by 15mins in a specific chest. Host can then become the adjudicator. Set rules like after the 15mins the winner take 80% of the total the losers get 20% as an example. This way you get variation in your game play and collect stuff you need.

Thanks for the positive Feedback man. Add me on Xbox and we can discuss all that stuff (:
Dont wana be johnny rain cloud here but whats the point of hiding a secret location if the other team looks at the map and BANG they find u ? then one might say well both teams destory the maps well whats stopping some one from making a compass and paper and re making it?

No, no, no bad idea with intervals, get 8 people to join a brand new map and it is everyone for himself, and watch them form truces and start fights and build structures, etc.

Thought about this before but a different idea of two forts on each side, a huge wall of a unique material(even obsidian would work as it's not like you'd find a wall of obsidian) that you wont find naturally could split the map apart for the two teams going straight from bedrock to sky limit, that way no one can stray off "accidentally" into the enemy territory.
A good rule would be that no resource is for a team, if an enemy gets into the territory on a raid they can steal all they want but perhaps have a limited time in the enemy territory until the main advance.
Right dude my idea is just in Beta right now so im taking ANY and ALL ideas... also you should add me
Yeah like i said i would love to play like a big war type game mode that wud last a while... Like putting multiple traps and such like dispensers and what not. So alot of time means lots of preperation
