This is my biggest issue, as to help a user is the goal, not police them. When you delete or move with no notice, and I have not seen many moves, the user has no idea and 9/10 times will repost, making double the mods work. A simple PM or message, (most boards have built in system to notify poster)will stop this problem, and educate the user.
I don't post I redundant threads informing them of their mistake because the pinned rules post says to report redundant threads and not to post in them. I guess sending them a PM would be better than saying nothing though.

Never said you did, was talking in general.
Sorry the "you" should have been "staffer"
I fixed.
Oh ya I added you, as I see you hate BF3 too! Great me too

I kinda think it our fault. There's too many posts for the moderators to handle. WE are the forum, WE make up it's personality.
The problem, as I see it, is 1) it's made up mostly of kids who have been raised up in the "Me" generation. They have been raised to feel that they're important, special, and everything is (or can be customized) just for them. 2) Why bother to search or read when they can just pop online, post their own "important" (but dupe) question, and in a few seconds receive a personalized answer?
This isn't a "forum" any more- it's Twitter.
The mods can't be everywhere all the time.
It's up to us to take the forum back.
And the best way to do that is to just quit replying to dupe threads and let them die a natural death.
It seems like you can't come here for a proper discussion at all. Everything is lost in a flood of repeated topics asking what version we're on or people demanding answers about whatever update is next. The "Find Players" sub-board is ignored by most as even MORE topics advertising servers are placed here. The place is total anarchy, and it really detracts from the board's value.
It almost seems like just because we're the Xbox Version, the board isn't being regulated enough. In short, the board really, really needs some more dedicated attention. If we're lucky, it will at some point be a proper place to discuss the game.
Quick edit: Yes, I know I'm "complaining about complainers," but I sincerely just want to see things get back on track.
i know right its nuts im always on these forums for the most part and its just crazy how stupid people are like ive seen posts of people asking something for pc and i come in and im like "you know this section is for xbox right?" and then they will say "oh i didnt see that" and im like"...dumbass" lol
I dont know why but I can't post any topcs on the survival servers forum it keeps saying sorry please come back in 14400 minutes please can someone help me
this probably isnt the best place to ask that you know...
Unless the questions is,"where's the on button?", I'm not reporting it. I don't like the idea of reporting questions. It takes little effort to give a link or answer in one line.
That said, I end up report some 15 posts last night for"wrong section". I didn't hunt, these were all on the first page. So many reports, I almost felt like I was spamming. But I'll persist and see what happens. It would be ironic if I found my self banned.

I fully agree with this. Often a moved or deleted post generates another post when there's no notification. Most boards do give an automated,"post moved" or post deleted notice.

Tbh i've seen some adults act that way in these forums also but for the most part it is a lot of kids and they do repeat the same **** over and over again. We all come on here see the numerous redundant threads and people posting in the wrong section but everyday it seems like theres more and more. Sometimes I think people do this strictly to **** people like us off
the thing that pisses me off the most is if one of these thoughts pop into a new guys head anywhere from "wat color is this.." or "how do i do this" they instantly post it up on the forums. Its ridiculous, go do the damn research yourself. like my parents always used to say, if u dont have anything nice to post don't post anything. well... something like that anyways
I actually find this whole discussion kind of funny. I look at these boards probably 20+ times a day. Most times, there are very few new threads. If you honestly removed all the repeat posts, and misplaced posts, this board would see MAYBE 2 new threads a day.
What you are asking for is the death of activity here. There simply is not enough user activity here, beyond the things you complain about, to even really justify this board. With 3 million sales, if even 1% came here we would see 30,000 users concurrent. We do not, so its not even a tiny selection of actual players coming here. Those which do come here are going to want to know something, and probably not want to spend hours searching for it. So they post it, and will be reported or attacked. So, before any of the less than notable numbers of people can even become integrated into this community, they are jaded against it.
This is not minecraft PC, nor is its community going to be comprised of people who have lived surfing the internet forums for years. Its a fledgling thing and its going to have to be grown before we can even CONSIDER policing it very much. Imagine a town with 20 people. IF half of them get pulled over every day they will quickly find somewhere else to live. We all realize the NEED for policing, but its important to also realize the need for growth and sometimes a little kindness and extra freedom assist in that.
But, of course, feel free to disagree with me. I can think of only 5 or so users here that even make the sorts of posts we seem to find "acceptable". I'd really rather not be forced to ONLY see 5 posters in a forum that, by rights, should have thousands.
The problem with forums is the people on them. Yes some could have better moderators but I still lies with the users. You have a forum for a game like this which has a ton of little kids and immature people on you can't expect much. This prob goes for many video game forums. I have also noticed this applies to many other types of forums as well, car forums seem to have this problem as well. I'm on many forums and some don't have these issues. Gun and electronic forums I'm on are very civilized for the most part. There are a few exceptions where the mods are cry baby little girls that are on a huge power trip. I've been to 2 different gun forums where the mods/owner are just unbelievable. I can think of 4 forums that are just great. People go out of their way to help out.
Please be aware of deflamitory remarks. You have seen the number of posts per hour, do you really think mods are there just to read every one of them and make a deciison which to keep and which to remove. By the time they have done all that theres probably been 100 more to read. Wiki is usually a user forum, ie voluntary run not paid mods. This site isnt the worst Ive seen. If you wanted serious discussions then learn to ignore the 20 million other posts from the 10+ year old crowds. I understand the frustations of having a board open where anyone can post but really, its not a forum for serious debates, its a user forum with people needing help.
why should they read every thread? the topic of the thread says it all... unless the thread goes off topic and turns in an argument. those threads usually have TONS of replies so here's the solution.
assign different mods to different regions of the forums.
those mods could then check their section two times a day, removing the unwanted material.
how do they do that? like i said above, remove the threads that are titled something off topic to this section or against the rules.
ex. "ZOMG HEROBRINE GUIZ"
also take a few minutes to monitor the threads with a lot of replies, just to see everything is on topic and respectful.
PROBLEM SOLVED!
and since everyone is saying it's the people, suspend the trolls and spammers? if that doesn't take care of it, hell ban them.
I see a few people that are always on here that could easily be moderators of the section. Whether or not the staff will listen to our requests is another story.
When I go into caves and mine deep I have to play on peaceful because a spider surprising me will make me not want to play for a month and very paranoid.
Now how the **** is this thread still up when mine of the EXACT some topic was deleted for having 'nothing to do with minecraft xbox 360'?
Settle down. We're trying to have a proper conversation here. It has a lot to do with the value of the board in which we discuss Minecraft on the Xbox, and I think for right now, that's good enough. I'd still like an answer from the staff as to why this board remains a train wreck.
