Any chance of putting hardcore mode into the 1.8 update?

I know its a 1.9 pre-release, but 4j put other things in early so I am hoping for this in 1.8 if its possible / doable.

Hardcore mode game on PC and its so much fun. a good survival island and hardcore mode combined... the suspense is crazy. You only get one life... and then if you die its over.

Just play on Hard, and delete the world once you die. There, ghetto Hardcore mode. Enjoy.

I wouldn't expect them to pull anything up early. 1.8 update will be big enough as it is.
