yes, using the commands or editing the text in the app support folder for minecraft. Commands are going to be able to be toggled on and off when creating new SSP worlds and is labeled as "Allow Cheats:" in 1.3 which would be the only way for xbox to switch between them without adding something PC doesn't have, which xbox most likely won't have because typing about text on an xbox is a pain in the ass without the controller keyboard.
There is no toggle for simply creative/survival after you've created a world. There is no in-game option to toggle between survival and creative without single player commands.
Is this the argument of everyone? That is not my reason. Do you think I am just blindly protesting this idea?
You were saying what you wanted not what anyone else was saying and the point amount to, it doesnt affect your play if you dont want it to so what the hell does it matter.
Most likely not, as it isn't an option in the original game, but it is possible and shouldn't be too hard to implement. They could just make it an option in the checklist when loading a map along with online, invite only, etc.
This argument is a fallacy and can be used for both sides, making it invalid. The only strong, unbiased argument is that they should follow the original game's setup, like they're trying to do for the most part, which wouldn't make this an option.
So how if it isnt an option in the original game can the server own dictate who is playing what at any given time on their map, funnily enough that would be different modes on the same map then.

commands, i literally JUST stated that above you. server owners control almost everything through commands typed into the console. And i SERIOUSLY doubt xbox is going to have commands simply because of how unfriendly typing is in consoles.

so having it an option on the options screen gives similar effect and is exactly what we are just on about.

Similar yet completely different. People want it so that they can build something epic with 0 effort then go back to survival, which almost completely destroys the purpose of survival. They may as well just play in creative.
edit: it really begs the question: why? Why would you want to start a game type where you're supposed to start out with nothing and have to work to build up to something awesome if you're just going to cheat halfway through by switching to a mode where you have infinite resources to build what you want?

Or use it to get items their world didn't spawn with, such as cacti, pumpkins, clay, etc. Of course there will be people who abuse it, but you can say the same about the PC version as well.

clay has been/is being fixed, pumpkins will be able to be grown in a later update, and cacti? seriosuly? The only way to abuse it in PC is to play on a server, you can't abuse it in single player unless you turn on the "Allow Cheats:" option when creating the world.

Maybe they dont want to provide themselves with anything, i know you clearly find the idea shocking, but perhaps they want to play survival in a world they have created for the purpose !

If you offered someone 1 million dollars right away or the chance to make 1 million dollars over a period of time, which do you honestly think they'll choose?
95% of people will abuse the ability to switch between creative and survival if it get's added. People will see that they no longer need to do anything anymore to survive. If they need wood, they'll just hop over to creative, spawn some, then switch back instead of going out and chopping down trees.
The only way I would have no problem with them making creative and survival switchable is if they can make it to where resources can't be transferred when going back and forth from creative to survival.

I have no clay in my world, if your world spawns without pumpkins or seeds, you can't get them, if your world spawns without cacti, you can't get them, if your world spawns without reeds, you can't make books, bookshelves, sugar, paper, maps, cakes, later on if your world doesn't have blaze spawners, then you can forget about potions, etc. And my point still stands, as you said yourself, it can be abused on PC as well.

This could be applied to any situation whatsoever. I understand you defend this idea of crossing between game modes, but at least try to create a reasonable argument for it. Only then will I believe you are honorable enough to see why I dislike this idea.
I am confused as to why a certain game mode would change things for anyone that chooses not to use said game mode? well unless you are one of those people that abuse it or it removes another game mode they like. Like me I like peacefull as it is and this new creative will change that mode.
Also why would how I play or as some have said abuse certain features cause anyone else any problems? Specially if you don't play with that person on multi-player.
If you ask not to add any feature there is really only one reason you don't want said feature. Is that you would use the feature. The reason I say this is if you don't or won't use said feature then why should you care and how does that feature change you gameplay. Thats if you don't use it?

Just curious
Stop using this argument. It is extremely inaccurate. Some people, including I, believe that the aforementioned idea of crossing between game modes should not be added. We believe this because of a general thought it would be detrimental to the game overall. It is not because we care about the way you play.
well then explain you reasons. If not then walk away. Either way if you get your way then that is forcing me and others to play your way.
I prefer the game as is, but both arguments are invalid. Either way if both sides get their way then the other is forced to play the game in a way they don't like or more to the point putting up with a feature they don't like.

explain your reason or don't bother posting.
I will explain my reasoning. Finally, someone was polite enough to ask.
Survival Mode-built and Creative Mode-built structures will always be confused with each other. Part of why I invested so much hope into Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition was that this would not ever be present.
Most likely, new players will discover this feature and abuse it to the point of complete bore. Just trust me in that this will happen. Many of my friends stopped playing the PC Edition because they played CM exclusively shortly after purchasing.
If you disagree with either of these beliefs, then do not comment or start a debate. I just wanted to state my words for the request of a polite person.

That would make no sense though as the world you build would be out of those resources wouldnt it

but again none of it affects you unless you want it to.
And saying the argument about the choice is a fallacy is silly, or would you expect people to refuse to play MMOs if they dont PvP because they have the option for it.
Look guys it's simple. All games play by a set of rules. That's just the way it is. If you want unlimited resources, just play creative. Make sure you have cactus, clay in a survival world before you invest time in it. There isn't any legit reason to switch between modes. The whole point of playing games is to succeed within set confines. Surly you can understand this.

no not at all the whole point in playing games is to have fun, if people derive their fun on their map by switching between two modes so what
