When creative comes out next update will I be able to make a map in creative, then play it in survival, or can I make one of my existing survival worlds a creative then back to a survival.
I think you should be able to switch from creative to survival(and vis versa) if you are a custom map maker. When you are finished building your map, you can switch to survival and invite your friens or other people to play the map legit.
Perhaps someone can't find anything in their world, for example, slimes to make sticky pistons. So they switch to creative and Build whatever they're building with the pistons, then switch back.
You do get how that would be abused right? It would let people get whattever they wanted without having to work for it anymore. What would be the need to go chop down trees when you could just switch to creative, give yourself tons of wood, then switch back to survival?
If they do make it to where you can switch back and forth, there needs to be restrictions. You shouldn't be allowed to transfer resources when you switch between the two modes. You should only be allowed to build, then switch to survival with no resources just like you're playing normally.
That requires modding, and it's not playing properly.
You can't build a massive fortress filled with diamonds and then switch it over to survival. What's the point?..
huh it doest require mods at all what are you on about, anyone can play survival on a creative mode map at the discretion of the maps 'controller'
and the point is because some of us would like to make our big builds just that bit easier but still be able to play the rest of the game with it duh, and if people decide they want to fill their map with diamonds... so what its their map.
I heard there you can open the chat console with a keypad or something to do commands, Im sure it's not true though. If it is you can always use the command to change game mode?
who cares if people want to have all resources and play survival its they choice
It not like 4J studios are forcing you to use this option
and it could help with building massive projects that you want to play on survival

That's a bad example. Every world has slime, if you can't find it, that's your problem. Cactus would have been a better example for sure.
I like the idea too, and I don't see why others care how I play my game. 4J won't force you to use Creative Mode and/or to switch to/from Survival. Does it cheapen the game for you? Don't use it.
I do not care about how you play your game. I do not even know you. All I want is this feature never to be added to the game.
It's the option they go to when they can't really think of anything to say.
Pretty much. Technically, that defense would apply to every single dysfunctional option ever thought of.
For example, I like unicorns shooting lasers. If you say against me that it will not be added as an option, I will state that you are forcing me to surrender my freedom.
typical, personally if they change or remove peaceful mode completely I most likely won't play much anymore. Mainly because I prefer things as they are. this creative mode seems well stupid. Mainly because if you have all the resources that are available then it will be to easy and rather boring too. I prefer to mine my own resources.
I prefer peaceful mode as is. If you want to add another go ahead, but please don't change peaceful mode as it is.
As I said in another thread. As long as you make thing optional and don't force people to use the new features then great, but if I have to change how I play then the game just became garbage.
One thing 4J needs to understand and remember is that xbox users can't mod the xbox version to suit their needs. Unlike the PC version.
I doubt they care, but owell it was fun while it lasted.
When creative comes out next update will I be able to make a map in creative, then play it in survival, or can I make one of my existing survival worlds a creative then back to a survival.
Most likely not, as it isn't an option in the original game, but it is possible and shouldn't be too hard to implement. They could just make it an option in the checklist when loading a map along with online, invite only, etc.
Im not sure but I think you should be able to convert a survival map into a creative map just like the pc version.all I want is the fly mod, things take so much longer without flying...
I'm not sure how it works now since I haven't been on the PC version since the single player commands update, which i think is actually labeled as "cheats" when you're starting a new world (i could be wrong), but you used to have to go into the game's code and Modify it to do that.
Perhaps someone can't find anything in their world, for example, slimes to make sticky pistons. So they switch to creative and Build whatever they're building with the pistons, then switch back.
If you're not willing to play survival how survival is played then why play survival? "oh i can't find this, i'll just cheat for it really quick" is not a justifiable reason to make this an option.
huh it doest require mods at all what are you on about, anyone can play survival on a creative mode map at the discretion of the maps 'controller'
before the single player commands update, which i haven't played with so i don't know much about, you used to have to go into the game's code and modify (that is what mod is short for, FYI) it to be able to switch back and forth.
So everyone should be forced to play how you want because you cant have something in the game that would be optional to use ?
This argument is a fallacy and can be used for both sides, making it invalid. The only strong, unbiased argument is that they should follow the original game's setup, like they're trying to do for the most part, which wouldn't make this an option.

Except it is an option for PC SMP.

Retired StaffThat's all anyone knows.

its not hindering us at all, it would help alot

It's simple, don't choose this option to play, you don't need to cry about a feature that you aren't forced to use

Is this the argument of everyone? That is not my reason. Do you think I am just blindly protesting this idea?
