Being able to switch from creative to survival? It would apply then.
You're talking about not duping and not cheating. That has nothing to do with switching game modes.
Once the ability to switch between game modes is implemented, it makes every world "legit" because you're not using a glitch or exploit to gain material, you're just using a game mechanic.
So yeah, your post about dupe-free world is irrelevant.
Okay, I didn't narrow that down enough. My point was now without the ability to switch between the two people often dupe and glitch. I'm saying that doing everything legit, glitches or creative, working for all of it is a better feeling then using the other two methods. Sorry for the confusion.
I do hope you get the switch mode...players can then dig a big hole use tnt and blow up your create since it doesnt affect them. Some people just dont think things out. Hell it dont even need to be tnt just the creepers running after them

Only the host would be able to switch between the game modes and anyone he gives admin too not just everyone will be given the option to change between it. You have failed to see this since the first post.

And you are failing to see he wants players to stay in survial with mobs playing in the same block as the admin person in create
I know I'm discovering this topic kinda late, but it sounds like a great idea. I don't know much about the PC version (I tried playing it but my computer can't handle it and just lags...even on the lowest settings), but from what I've been seeing there's a ton of features I wish they'd include on the Xbox version.
I came across an interview on OXM UK:
"We are working with Daniel Kaplan at Mojang to define what is going in to the Xbox version, but the aim is to include as many of the PC features that make sense on the Xbox as possible. The game isn't Minecraft on the Xbox, it is Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, so it isn't really a direct port of the PC game."
He says it's not a direct port so I wonder if that means there will be unique options on the Xbox version or if they'll just be less. If less, then it's super frustrating because I'm enjoying the game on the Xbox but when I hear about certain features on the PC version like enchanting and such, or even larger worlds, I get envious
But the list of updates that are coming with the 1.8 'adventure update' to the 360 sounds exciting. As an afterthought I also wish they'd increase the limit from 8. I play a lot on different 'severs' and role playing worlds and having more people join would be a fantastic option.

Everything that is in the vanilla Minecraft on PC will be on the Xbox version also, but once it matches it they will add variety of their own to it to give it's own features and what not.
-edit- side note what part of Jersey are you from?
As someone without a lot of xBox friends, admin tools in general (including mode switching) don't mean a whole lot to me. For people who do have big networks, I can understand the draw.
Certainly, for RPG servers, having an admin "god-mode" would be helpful.
I think that most of the people against the idea are saying they would rather see 4j work on other aspects (bug fixes, skins, etc.) Bug fixes seem the most critical to me - I don't care much about skins either.
What I am interested in, X, is the incredible degree of confidence with which you make assertions regarding the future development of MCXBLA. For instance, that tweet you posted from notch is a year old and very clearly related to the PC. I'm honestly interested as to why are you certain the same will apply to MCXBLA? I think Press makes a good point above. They have said it isn't a direct port. We have evidence of divergence alread (crafting, world size, slight differnces in change-log order {1.8 lighting in the 1.7.3 update}); Why do you assert that development from here on out will be the same?
I definitely think we need to be able to choose between creative and survival mode when starting a saved XBox world.
The ability to design an environment (skyblock, survival island) in creative mode and then play it in survival mode is just about my only current plan for creative mode.
I haven't played the PC, but are you sure you can switch this on the fly on that platform? Someone else said that it required a server-side mod to be able to switch between creative and survival.

Indeed you can. It is, however, a multiplayer feature. If I recall, the command is /gamemode {playername} 0 (for Survival) and /gamemode {playername} 1 (for Creative).

We don't need the feature to come in the form of commands. As I mentioned, simply hitting 'Start' and there being an option right there to switch to a creative/survival state would be great.
We don't have the ability to change the difficulty level on the fly, why do you think they would give us the ability to change the game mode on the fly?
I'd be just fine with it being an option that you have to choose when loading a saved game.
Tbh I'd like to see them work on other things before they even think about being able to switch between creative and Survival. Like a few other people mentioned before me on this thread world size, bug fixes, creative/hardcore, what's included not included in future updates are more important than this. Also i'm not a fan of admins being able to do this along w/rent-a-servers because like in BF3 servers and the admins can abuse players and ffor some reason I have a feeling that this will happen in MC on xbox(not saying you guys are like that but other people are)

Well that's how it is on the pc.
This is not at all what I want. I've not said that's what I want, and I believe I've made it pretty clear why I would like the feature included.

so game command modes on the xbox now....sighs

So, X, do you have any other insights on the development of MCXBLA, like, for instance, how they are goign to address world size?
The only thing I could possibly say is that I hope they address it
