switching between creative and survival for admins should be defo added because of some serious reasons. there is limited resources currently, if we will get mods we will need to get it from creative menu because theres not enough space in crafting table, we may want to do some public games like hunger games etc. if you look at it in my eyes switching between creative and survival is one of the most important things.
I wish the dude who created this thread hadn't tried asking for two things at once though. Why not just push for the administration controls? Those are needs more than Creative mode at the moment.

"When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die."
It's okay not to have interest in it. The people that confuse me are the people who want to limit players by not allowing the feature, even though it would make things so much easier for many. I can only hope for the best
Wait. So did he confirm that there would be actual useful moderating tools or that we would be able to switch game modes? Switching game modes is a neat bonus. Having moderating tools that can be given to moderators is a MUST.

Nothing has been confirmed yet. I'd hope 4J takes further moderating tools and switching game modes into extreme consideration. These cannot hurt the game; only add. I tweeted them once about this thread and they never got back to me, so I figure I'll try again at a later date.
If Administrator promotions were in Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, that would be quite the feature. However, I would suggest 4J Studios incorporate crossing between game modes at a later update/never (depending on the majority's opinion).
its like one user said before, if you are in the middle of getting exp and then the admin changes it to creative and you stop getting experience points is a down side. I really think what is being suggested is ok for an offline world but when you have active player playing the game, they dont want to be messed with.
1. When the admin switches to Creative Mode it just makes him/her invincible and allows him/her to fly and have a full list of blocks to give him/her self. Everyone else would remain in Survival Mode so your points are invalid.
2. There is no harm in this being implemented unless you have douchy friends then that is your fault.
They should add a feature so you can upgrade certain Players to certain ranks. For example let three of my freinds be admins. But add actual settings for them. They should be able to access my map and boot people as I would be able to.
How will anyone make a "legit" world if you can just switch back and forth between creative and survival?
That is one of my reasons for disliking game mode-crossing. Sure, you could just not use it, but how would everyone else know that you didn't?
However, I do like the idea of Administrators. I could hire my best friends to run and set up my city during my absence. It will be difficult because every "server" owner has it inside their hard drive, but there must be a way around that.

That's the problem, no one would. I guess you would know the truth, but getting people to believe you is not always the easiest thing to do. Especially on the internet.
I personally built a town from what I had, no duping or anything. I mined and flattened it all out. It may not be the prettiest, but its the fact I didn't cheat for it that makes it beautiful. That's my opinion.

That's awesome, and a lot of people feel this way, but it has nothing to do with what we're talking about in this thread.
Behold the glorious tweet where Notch announced this was coming in the 1.8 update <3
You know, since it's in the official changelog for 1.8, perhaps this feature has a much better chance of making it than I thought.

changelog for what MCXBLA
No. PC Minecraft had this included.
