Administrative commands are a necessity for multiplayer in Minecraft on the Xbox 360, and I believe that it would be very simple to implement. By adding a simple way to access a command console (preferably through an in-game menu), there's no reason to believe that we cannot get the same control over our multiplayer servers that the PC has.
The following commands would be beneficial for us in many ways:
/gamemode [username] [0][1] - This command allows an administrator to switch a player between Survival [0] and Creative [1]. The feature would likely be used by admins attempting to maintain proper control of a Roleplay server, along with people who would enjoy building a quick "starting point" before beginning Survival. Whatever the reason may be, the option to do this is remarkably powerful and freeing.
/tp [player1] [player2] - This commands allows an admin to teleport Player 1 to Player 2. This can be used to catch griefers red handed or allow more laid back players to more easily access their friends' location.
/time [set|add] [number] - This command allows admins to change/set the time of day. Useful for those who wish to skip through the night if the situation is called for.
/op [player] - A very simple command that would make another player an admin for as long as the session lasts. It may not be possible to make the admin status stay through multiple sessions.
There may be a few others, but these are what I see as the most important. As known, these are vanilla Minecraft features, and more options are never a bad thing. My plan is to garner some traction here and tweet 4J about the features to ensure their inclusion. If you want administrating, creating and surviving to blend more seamlessly, there is no reason to ignore these staples of Minecraft administration.
In addition, I find it important to make it very clear that the only person/people that would be able to access the creative inventory would be those actually in creative mode and not everyone in the server.
Maybe because we only have surival on the xbox....you might want to post this somewhere else. I for one would appreciate the PC users not commenting in XBOX forums until any features have been added. All you are doing is making assumptions we will be getting the same as the PC versions. XBOX has limitations, we might go an entirely different direciton who knows until its released.

I'm thrilled that you think I'm a PC user, but I am not. On to the list!
Minecraft on the Xbox will be getting Creative mode in the next update. This is not an assumption. It is pure fact.
4J intends to follow through with PC equivalent updates up to and potentially beyond 1.2.
You say "we" like you're in some sort of "in" crowd. Don't be crude.
Please do some research to save yourself some time in the future.
I'm not sure that the mildly low player limit really affects it, honestly. I kind of get what you mean (possibly that too many MORE people would be in Creative than in Survival) but it really is up to the owner of the server. I'm just trying to suggest what I've seen work very well in the past back when I DID run servers on the PC. Now I'm full-blown Xbox and wish to see things vastly improve.
You are forgetting you are playing on the xbox, It will be limited to people on your friends list. It wont be the full pc version you have been looking at. Stop looking at the xbox as though you are getting what the pc has, not all features will come over to the new platform. PC doesnt even have a friends list and microsoft wont allow totally free access to xbox.

It does not have to be limited to people on your friends list. 4j could probably take the first Gears Of War matchmaking style (where the host starts his own server selects the options (downtime, gamemode, weapons etc. and people can search and find the server on a server list) and apply it to Minecraft so people can search a server list and find the correct game for them.

Are you even following this game's development at all? I'm not forgetting anything. I'm a 100% Xbox player who is aware of what 4J is doing and what the Xbox is capable of. I'm afraid I'm not understanding your point at all. I apologize.
As for everyone else, thanks for the support so far! Once the thread garners enough of it, I'll tweet a link to 4J and see what they think.
Im not saying we arent getting the features or flavour of creative mode, but, to use your example of Gears of War, did you ever play cross servers with people from different countries. It was a major lag issue. And that was for a fully supported non user designed programme. What you are suggesting is for the Sticky piston more than 4 used together problem to go public server wide when users are allowed to publish whatever they want to build. Do you really think that is realistic? As far as I can see minecraft will always be hosted by user servers unless someone is prepared to get on board at microsoft. Players using PC and xbox on the same server is a long way off. There will have to be changes to the pc version to conform to the limits of the xbox. You want to know why we dont have free style crafting? xbox limits, you want to know why sticky pistons are limited in use, xbox limitations. All I am saying, I would put money on it that we dont get free access to creative mode unlimited and all because, yes you guessed it, xbox has limitations. xbox has already been limited to who you can play with, its been specifically designed so that you can only play with people on your friends list. Why else would they have added this feature that is non existant in the pc version?

To prevent griefing. Go look it up. That is 100% the reason they chose to do it that way. Not because of limitations, which I don't think are as much as you believe.
The ability to dictate server admins who can kick, ban and switch between Creative and Survival.
Maybe its because Im a programmer and am used to dealing with servers. I have yet to see a server stay in online mode while you apply updates to it.
You're not applying updates in the traditional sense of the word at all. You're changing a players current state -- be it Creative or standard Survival.
Its called saving the game and rejoining........feature there now.
I personally do not support pressing a buton to change from creative to survival a the whimsy of the admin. Who would want to be mid way through a build to suddenly find Admin changed the rules and made it survival. Atleast while you have the option to join or leave when its changed, as it currently stands, there is no Admin abusive powers. You simply dont join.
Going along with the idea of multiple admins for a server you have to also include having a server running 24/7. All though I have read in several places that this is not a feasable option, I will direct you to Battlefield 3. In BF3 the game's creators have setup away for player to purchase dedicated servers using microsoft points. If they implimented this into Minecraft I believe 4J would have a good community intesterest, not to mention an additional monthly income.

Edit: Also I support this Idea fully.

If all else fails. But I think the Xbox can handle something this tiny.
