How can the option be gone from the game? Isn't it just (y) and upload to Facebook?

If you don't have the online option checked, you can't share to Facebook and the "y" button won't show up.

The screenshot feature works in both online and offline games.

There is however and option either on Facebook or the Xbox 360 itself that can disable social network sharing.
