VICTORY! After three days of off and on digging, caving, getting burned to a crisp and testing the room's lighting I finally was able to spawn a slime. YAY!
So where else could I go to express my happiness that this caused but here? Don't give up hope if you're still looking for slimes, there in the game....even if they aren't the easiest to get to!

Have it set on 'easy'. One big one spawned and when I hit it just died and never split. Kind of a let down actually. lol

Im encouraging people to post screens in the slime 101 thread instead of making new topics, that way people have a visual to look forward to also. Gratz btw
I feel for the ones who cant get slimes to spawn. I'm completely on the opposite of you guys and gals. I'm at the point now where I'm trying to find ways to stop them from spawning. It gets really annoying now. I have killed over 6,000 slimes. I know by the leader boards There are others that have killed more, but I have more slime balls then I could ever use. Also all this without a slime farm.
I think I'll try to go to the slime finder and cover there spawning chunks with half slabs so they cant spawn.

I will have to see if I can do that. It was your Slimes 101 guide that I used to find and build this room. Working to try and get a screen capture of them so I can post it.

It's what I used (through a google search) to find the cagey buggers and hollow out the room. It took a little doing and I think I still have a cave to find nearby and light up but I have slimes now and the possibility of sticky pistons so I'm not complaining.

Came back and had two big slimes.
Then I realized that there is another chunk right beside this one that will spawn slimes, so I need to clear out the room to be 2x as long now.
I still want to make an auto slime farm.
