I'll tell you what, back in the day....lol But really, why are these forum going to hell?
People wanna join others just to destroy there hard work, talk mad **** on the forums...It's ridicules!
Getting to the point where I'm almost afraid to let people in my world, even though i really could use the help on my epic Man-cave
Found a few people i can stand(they don't play much though) but all the rest ...forget about it.
Bad thing is i think these are the best forums around for Xbox version. No smiley face today!
I'm almost positive that as soon as i start trying to find few people, It will most likely be someone i don't want..For ex. i say 18+, next thing i know there is a 12yo in my game....wtf, right.
Not to mention the level of stupidity that is around...my god!
Now look at the pic below....That's what would worry me, someone f'ing with the timers or redstone. That just a small area...My bat-cave/Man-cave will be a redstone dream/nightmare,lol
Mostly testing.
BTW That's just a small area of my stuff, and I'm the only ONE that has worked on this map. I played so much lately that i here the music even after a turn it off,
Never duped never wanna! - It makes builds so much better IMO
Ill Play with you. I play alot but i wont be around much tomorrow due to a batman marathon then the midnight movie. But like i said i play alot. Im 20 and my gamertag is Alienpigeon9 add me

I'm not looking for people just yet, sorry.
When i am I'll post on the find players section where it belongs, lol Will be something about epic mancave or something like that.
i can never find anyone to help me build either. i don't trust people, and i am a bit of a control freak when working on something. i feel like if i want it done right, i should just do it myself.
I never let anyone help me build anything unless I completely trust them. The only person I trust enough to help me is my brother. Anyone else that tries to help me is just getting in the way, mostly because my brother is the only person I know that thinks like me. I had trouble when I was younger because he always knew my passwords, simply because our minds worked the same way.
All my friends are bored with Minecraft so it's just me playing by myself everyday. And when they do play they screw around and mess stuff up. So I feel your pain.

That's what happened to the people i used to play with
BTW, love you pic with the penguin's, made my laugh...after watching 30 times, lol(i love penguin's,lol)
I feel your pain OP. I quit making my server public a few weeks back. Last night I thought to myself, "hey maybe not everyone is a *****, let me set my server to public for a bit." So I saved, backed out to that main menu and set my server settings to public. Not even two minutes went by till some ***** joined up. Good thing I was close by cause I see this gooch start breaking the first thing he came across, so I approached him and he went after me trying to kill me. Well, last night was the cherry on top of the cake for me, I lost all hope in having some one decent join and just be normal for once. I have only two people on my buddy list who I can trust and don't have to baby sit when they join my server, unfortunately we don't get to play together that often.
I think the problem with my server is I have ALOT of nice sh*t everywhere. And since haters will always be haters, they will never stop trying to mess up other peoples work.
Since we're on this topic, here's my gamer tag: AtomicSphincter. I'm 24 with a mic, and just want somebody mature (I know that's a lot to ask these days) to play with. I think this will be my last attempt at finding someone decent.
I'm pretty sure quite a few people went out and bought the Xbox 360 Edition just to try and ruin peoples worlds. Probably the same people who do it on the PC. I love the new option where you can exclude everyone form joining your world except your friends. No more friends of friends.
I never really did understand why people would waste money on a game just to ruin other peoples time.
Having played other block builders on xbl prior to MC, I have a slightly tougher skin, and knew what to expect.
The forums have little to do with it. XBL, has everything to do with it. I generally keep my world open. When inviting first time comers, I save before hand. If they grief, or accidentally mine through 8 walls(lol) not a problem.
When accepting friend requests however I am very, very particular I consider the amount of years they have on their account. What's in the bio and how many achievements, or what type. I have a 80000 score or higher. I don't expect other to be so prolific, but only two achievements in this game and that sends a red flag.
A msg with a friend request usually tells me everything I need to know.
Sometimes a friend request now, gets removed later if they bring nothing to the table, or I simply dislike their style of play. Age also plays a factor, but just a factor. I've removed folks the same age as me while keeping much young ones.
I've met, played, helped, and been helped by a number of forum members. Friends made due to their posts, content and contributions to the community. I haven't had a single issue. Dupers and Legits. Being careful is good. I sure don't want someone to undo my legit time played. But having a group of people to play or pool from adds such an enrichment to this game....
If you have common sense. The benefits far outweigh the risks.
I've got to join in with the majority of the people on this thread. I'm an older minecrafter, (40), and while I don't mind blowing a 12 year old's head off in some FPS, or shredding them in Rock Band, Minecraft is a little more personal. I would love to play a world with a stranger who takes the game seriously, is an adult, and shares a similar view of what we want to make the world into, but all of the friend requests I've gotten were from people whose gamertags I don't recognize from the forum. I do have one friend IRL that plays, but when we play together, it's like, "This is my world, and that is your world." All we do is walk around and note progress when we are in each others world. We don't really play together.
Just like the above poster, I am very particular about who I let on my friends list. The message with the friend request goes a long way with me, as does the "5" in your profile which means you have gotten positive feedback from other people you have played.
You have stoned in your name so I know your probably sound. I am 19 gamertag is II W1nDsOR II.
Will be willing to help if you help me s bit too. Won't grief. Pointless **** that. Why destroy what some1 else has made. I am an art student. A thing of beauty is a joy forever
3 posts, and likes stone. However well intentioned, this is what I'd avoid. I could be wrong. But like I said, going by post content and count...
Xbox profile, these are the deciding factors.

So true, I do look at how many posts people have before i invite, Not trying to be rude just how it is.

I'm very much the same way. You can call it a screening process of sorts. There is not one deciding factor as to whether or not I am willing to play with someone, but you can find subtle (or sometimes not-so-subtle) hints as to whether or not you will get along with someone. You pretty much hit the nail on the head with your post.

I have alittle bit of optimism! Quite a few people came through on my multiplayer game today... of course, one of them was a griefer, and one was a kid who wanted diamond stuff, but some people put in builds and some people were content to have a look at how our world was coming (pretty good for being a day old, we think)
So I dunno, you're gonna find party shitters in every community, if you're worried about it though, just save every time someone joins, you can reset your progress easily that way. But i didn't really need it too much today.

I'd start a new server with anyone, but they'd never get access to my personal one.
