I've tried http://extension.ws/...aft/slimes.html but after clearing out a couple chunks that it says there are slimes in, I've had zero spawning. I cleared out a 2 chunk long 3x3 tunnel and waited 10 minutes to see if anything spawned, and nothing did. The torches were on the walls not the floor. It's now been considerably longer than 10 minutes and still nothing.
Do those chunk finders not work for the XBLA version?
Edit: Forgot to mention the 3x3 2 chunk long tunnel is on layer 12-15.
I used the slime finder and got my first slime(s) yesterday. I was playing on Peaceful while building my room and got nothing.
Last night, I turned it to Easy, and built a separate room a distance away with a bed and door. When it turned night, I slept and in the morning traversed back to my slime room to see a giant slime trapped by my awkward ceiling lighting system.
Then, while building my second slime chunk (happened to be diagonally intersecting my first one), a few more slimes appeared.
Tips I have:
1. Build the chunk slightly larger than 16x16.
2. I placed torches every 5 blocks.
3. On the ceiling, I placed cobblestone every 5 blocks in a grid with 4 torches on each (1 on each side).
4. My room was only 3 blocks high, so where the cobblestone chandeliers are, it is only 2 blocks high. This allows large slimes to spawn and then traps them as they have a hard time navigating anything lower than 3.
5. I built mine about 2 blocks off the bedrock. I've found very little lava at this height so far (experiences may vary), but at 12 I found tons of lava in my first attempt.
6. I built a walled in area near the slime chunk to contain my workbench, furnace and chest. Also works great when running from tons of slimes I've found.
7. Use fists or a block of cobblestone to beat down slimes. Swords tend to kill them without dropping slime globs.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

If you have a dash in front of your seed and don't put it in the slime chunk finder it will spawn totally different worlds

This is probably a dumb thing to ask but were you standing in your slime farm waiting? if so that's why it may not of worked.

I remember using a word as the seed, but since the update shows your seed when you load your world now, it says it is "Seed: 3412756" I noticed it looked like perhaps it was " 3412756" with a space in the beginning, but even then it shows a slime chunk in the same spot, but nothing is spawning.

Use the thread I gave you if you need any help, i've built a total of 32 Slime Farms! just get the supplies and i'll check it out
PS- You remeber which word you used to spawn the world I can look it up

Well first off take a look at the Slime 101 post. It will cover everything you need to know.
Second off, listen to this guy Major_MoMSqueal < He will lead you right!
Yes you need to be at least 3 high, and at least 16 by 16 (x and z)
The slime finder works, you just need to do some leg work..Like lighting tunnels around it, digging out area, clearing out enemies.
Good luck, if still an issue after my work day Ill swing by.

A slime spawned after an abnormally long wait. I'm actually pretty good with spawner type things, for some reason it just took forever to spawn.
You're going to get a lot of useful and not so useful information when asking about slimes.. You can kill them with a sword and they will drop slime balls. I have a double chest full to prove it. Although I used a looting III sword once was able. (Although you can 'overkill' them.. meaning doing too much damage may rarely kill the next slime down, but I've never found this too much of a problem.)
Seems like the posters here are right on point. I use a different slime tool http://chunkbase.com/apps/slime-finder but I've used both with equal results. The thing I would add is to remember that Mobs won't spawn if you are within 24 blocks of the farm. Also, slimes are affected by the hostile mob cap. So light up those caves.:)
If you have a dash in front of your seed and don't put it in the slime chunk finder it will spawn totally different worlds.
That's because it's not a dash, it's a minus sign. -12345 is a negative number.
I've used the Chunkbase slime finder for both XBox and PC worlds with no problems. Be sure that you click the proper button for your world type; they are different. And make certain you check the exact chunk coords; carefully hollowing out the chunk next to the one you want is embarrassing! (not that I'd know anyone who did that, of course)
When I build a slime farm, I do it at a layer or so above bedrock. I put a grid of jack-o-lanterns in the floor, like this:
o . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . o . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . .
(o = light, . = dirt)
You can put torches on the walls, at 3 squares up, if you want some extra light. I build my slime farms 3 squares high, so I will have plenty of space to put in further layers if I feel like it, though I never have actually built any; I find a single layer provides sufficient slimeballs. You could go to 4 if you want. I put in a window all the way around so I can see my slimes, doors so I can whack them, and measure out a spot 25+ squares away (I usually mark the actual line with a sign, or with a piece of sandstone in the floor) to put a waiting room so I can just afk there and come back to check for slimes. Sometimes I mine in the area, making sure I don't go closer than 25 blocks to my slime farm so I don't interrupt their spawning.
I have a sword with Looting on it that I use for slime killing. I've never had a problem with overkilling them.
The xbox has a different generator than the slime generator does. As on the xbox, it forces all the biomes to spawn and other things to spawn while on the PC it doesn't.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
The xbox has a different generator than the slime generator does. As on the xbox, it forces all the biomes to spawn and other things to spawn while on the PC it doesn't.
I'm a little unclear on what you're trying to say. "...a different generator than the slime generator..."? Do you mean that it's different from what the Chunkbase slime finder indicates? If so, you're not correct. Look for the buttons that say "PC" and "Xbox", click the one appropriate to your platform, and it will show you where the slime chunks are.
I have slime farms in operation on both my XBox and PC games, in locations indicated by the slime finder in question, and I have obtained many slimeballs from the slimes on both platforms.
Another thing for the OP: If you're not getting slimes in your slime farm, check to make sure that you don't have a bunch of caves in the same chunk or adjacent chunks where other mobs are spawning instead. If you find some, slab them so nothing can spawn there, and you'll get a better crop of slimes.
Even mods didn't notice that a year-old thread got a needless bump from a noob? To be honest, I've replied myself to way-old posts I thought were recent. So I can't laugh too much.
Yes, the slime finders work now as well as they did last year--but only if your world's seed is entered without errors.
Yeah, even mods sometimes only look at the most recent post date. Mea culpa. But people do still ask about slime finders, so the information remains useful.
SlimeFinder works fine for me. All you gotta do is light up every cave in like a 124 block radius. It will take time but your slimes will spawn more and more. I think this is the most important thing to remember.
Obviously slimes don't spawn on peaceful. Half slab near by caves down and put a butt ton of torches, they spawn very slowly, I'd build two separate ones relatively close to each other, that way while you wait there can be two possibilities.

Nope, I was standing roughly 25 blocks above it.After more waiting a slime spawned! That took waaaay longer than expected...
