Read quite a few posts in the last bit or so about having mods transported over onto the 360... im just curious on how everyone plans to do this? lol
Do you all not realise the 360 is programmed with c++ while the pc is java? completely different codes. Yes it would be possible for the deve;lopers to rewrite the code and implement it but then they would be sppending time on that and not the actualy updates that minecraft has... its not logical to ask them for something like that...

They made minecraft with Java just with a different language on the Xbox.
They Are not stupid.

Mods as people know them will not happen. 4J is not going to copy and paste peoples mods from the PC onto the Xbox 360. They've said they're looking for inspiration but they won't just copy them. Also, they'll be DLC so you'll have to buy them.

Actually, they'll be taking the most popular mods and making them DLC by having the people who made them sign a contract saying they have permission to use their mod as DLC

4J can't just convert existing PC mods- without getting the original owner to sign a release/contract and providing compensation. IF they add them, they will write their own. Even then you can bet on two things: 1) they won't let you cheat (like most mods do now) and 2) they won't be a measly 160 MSP!
I know a lot of you guys think (wish) you'll be able to download your favorite PC mod from the internet, install it using a USB, all for free.... wrong, wrong, and wrong. All three of those will never happen.
BTW, the guy that got apples in his game- he just hacked his save-game file so one item appears to look like another. The new one still acts like the old one. The PE people do it all the time. He didn't actually "mod" the game itself.
I doubt that we'll see mods or DLC of any kind besides skins. With all the work its going to take to pump out bug fixes and updates within the year, I just don't see 4j sticking with minecraft that long. Lets just say that they do, by the time they got around to say texture packs, it would be around this time next year. Everyone will have moved on. I hope I'm wrong though.
Most they are probably adding close to "modding" is skins and texture packs and maybe some dlc based on inspiration mods.

There's some great games in the works that will trump MC big time. Ole MC just won't be able to stand up to them. A year from now it's gonna be real interesting!
