I've been working on a automatic wheat farm that uses the two pistons and bud switch. I follow the same way layed out in each tutorial that I watch and it does work. Suggestions or common problems?

Lucky for you, this is the one I have on my world, and I found a fix for it. For the two redstone that connect to the bottom piston, replace the one closest to the piston with a repeater facing the piston. Then connect the redstone to the repeater while still underground. It works like a charm.
Yeah, you need a repeater where the wire goes to the piston holding the soil. You may have to move some wires back a block to get it to work properly and make room for the repeater. It will work though, I have one working in my world.
Why on earth would you use a bud switch with something like a wheat farm? The xbox version only allows for 200 drops at any given time, and a bud switch would trigger as soon as the wheat grows from seeds to sprouts, so you wouldn't get any wheat and not very many seeds. If it isn't hooked up to the wheat but something else, then you still get drops willy-nilly that you won't be around to pick up. Give me a good old fashioned pressure plate or lever for a wheat farm any day.

Yep, didn't watch the vid. I have now though, and I must say that you would have to kill a lot of skeletons for this. No problem if you have built a grinder, I guess, but I'll take an old fashioned wheat farm like the one in this video, just on a smaller scale for the xbox. Skip to 1:15 for the wheat farm part.
Someone on the forum posted a video for an xbox version, Alot of controversy in the thread though cause the OP said it was there idea. I never watched the vid but I think its just the same

I pull the lever and ride the water down collecting on the way, then collect what is at the end when I get there. Haven't done math to make sure i'm gettin every single bit of my drops... But im for sure getting more than 200
I do see other people are also having this issue and I haven't harvested since 1.7.3 came out, so my experience was on 1.6.6
Because you're picking it up on the way, therefore there isnt 200+ on the ground at once. Try it without collecting you will see the items disappear in front of you.
