when crafting something while standing in an open door when your inventory fills up they are tossed. But when tossed into moving water they float towards you and you can hear the pick up sound then the system completely crashes. (frozen screen, no XB control panel (home X button), no sound) Check the 'pick up' routine for floating/drifting items. it looks like it's still adding them to the inventory maybe into an invalid memory range. This is in current 1.8.1 (i think)

Unable to reproduce that, can you screenshot what your setup looks like when doing this?

I Have been having the issue for 3 days now where anything on my person's inventory not saving. and my map is cleared even tho ive discovered everything on it. these are the only glitches that are affecting me right now on the game. oh and it always starts me back at the maps starting spawn point, as well. but if i put things in chests the items are saved as long as no items are being carried on my person. and when i save the game even with items on me they dont stay and again map starts out fresh with me at starting spawn point. and this issue affects any of my friends who enter my world as well not just me.
....(note: i also have a friend who cannot enter his built world it wont load it up it shows it in the list of his saved worlds, and its not corrupted save file either...he hasnt been able to enter his world for 6 months now. hes also a xblmc player)
First: I decided to build a zipper elevator with the pistons and stairs. I'm sure y'all know the one I mean. It goes from bedrock to the skybox. The issue I'm having is, I can't reach the top. It looks like I lag behind the zip up motion and fall to my death.
Second: I have spiders spawning in my mob trap. It shouldn't be possible for them to be there. I have 4 8x8 spawning pads, layered in 5 stacks to make a tower. Typical design from what I've seen. I have half slabs so that there are no 3x3 spaces open for spawns. This should make it so spiders cant show up. But time and again, if I'm up near the pads I can hear them squeaking. I thought I must have forgotten some slabs, but upon inspection all is well. What gives?
Third: Drop damage is inconsistent. The aforementioned mob trap leads to a disk maker setup if I toggle some levers. Mobs fall 20 blocks onto a fence post to bring 'em to a one shot kill. Usually. Then a water stream leads them off to sort and be dealt with. The source block for the water is 2 blocks behind the post so as not to cushion the fall. But every once in a while a mob will drop and take ZERO damage. In the case of the disk maker, this leads to a creeper getting shot, going aggro on the skeleton, and boom, hard work destroyed.
TL;DR: Large piston system lagging glitch, spiders where there couldnt possibly be spiders glitch, and mobs sometimes dont take fall damage glitch.

known bug - they might be doing a little something to help with it (see upcomingupdate's change log related to pistons turning transparent)

Spiders spawn on 2x2 not 3x3 spaces - you probably don't have enough slabs.

The only time I've seen this is when one mob falls on another within the trap - when this happens, the first mob acts as a cushion for the second. Unsure about your specific situation.
Could be a mob cushioning the fall.. damn unfortunate if thats it though. As for the spiders.... are you sure its a 2x2 space? I mean, that would explain it but I could have sworn I read 3x3. Easy fix though.

I'm stating 2x2 on the basis of Ethos's tutorials. I use his "practical mob grinder" design and have never had spiders. I haven't seen anything in the wiki one way or the other.
As far as the mob cushion effect, I >know< that happens because I can watch it happening in my own zombie grinder. I have a zombie dungeon that I setup with a water elevator/ fall system. When I'm standing at the collection point, I can watch every other Zombie survive the fall as they land on the one previously there.
this is just a small thing but it bugs me. When I make a cake or put a bucket of lava in an oven... i would like the bucket back. Who cooks iron buckets into a cake? That's just weird.
something new going on in the once happy kingdom of my minecraft server. I found a button where i never put one so i removed it and looked out my window. And i saw something i never saw before. something not brown as wool nor grass, it floated, and it was 2 blocks wide and 5 blocks long. Not only was it scary to see this thing, it was even scarier knowing it was at my house. terribly scared.

Both of these were eventually fixed on PC, although the lava bucket fix just went in in version 1.3. Maybe 4J can be convinced to fix it sooner than that for us, though… *fingers crossed*

That would be a terrain generation glitch. Basically, the water was generated before the hole and did not get a block update. Placing or mining a block adjacent to the water should update it, causing it to flow. The same type of thing is responsible for the floating sand or gravel that you will sometimes find.

EDIT: Ok, the option to upload picture has returned.
My chests have mysteriously turned 90 degrees. lol
