Random lighting bug - on a friend's world, I have seen completely shadowed air blocks in the middle of an otherwise well-lit area. (Imagine the meeting of two walls and floor into a corner, even though the reast of the walls are fully lit by a torch 4-5 blocks away, the corner will appear as if there is level 3 light hitting it. Breaking the block creating one of the shadowed planes makes the other two receive full light, but then the shadow will transition to somewhere else nearby.
Also, I can't find it in the list, what is the status of the world corrupting glitch when you save and exit in the nether?
I've been getting this lately as well. Blocks sometimes will place and disappear and return to your inventory sometimes too if you're standing too close to the spot where you're laying it.
This happens to me if a mob walks where I try to place a block
minecraft xbox 360 edition:
me and one of my friends have been working hard to make a house but it appears to be raining inside the rooftop^is made of normal wood
Do you have the latest update? I think this was patched.

It happens to me too though if I'm standing on a block next to the spot I want to place it. I guess if I'm too close to the edge is when it does that. I don't know if it's a bug or not.

Ran across this in my world the other day… looks like a glitch in the terrain generation code… Water that by all rights ought to flow down into a hole, but doesn't.
Can absolutely confirm this happening. Generated a randomly seeded world today and came across the exact same thing, plus a few more water blocks floating on air blocks two blocks off the ground. Don't have time to figure out how to do a screenshot tonight, but the seed number is 8202186816380622097 and close coordinates are X-397, Y62, Z6. It's down in a valley surrounded by mountains, so you'll probably be able to see the phenomena before you get to it.
Also, I am still encountering very dark pieces of, particulary, tall grass and stone that appear unusually dark compared to those adjacent to them (with no explanation for the lighting differences through shadows). If mined, these blocks seem very likely to continually reappear. I left one alone and just watched and it eventually just disappeared on its own. Although I was experiencing the reappearing block issue before the August bug fix, I've only been noticing these dark blocks since after the bug fix.
Tonight, there is absolutely no other evidence of lag; that is, movement controls appear to respond essentially instantaneously and frame rate appears fine. I have not experienced any freezing issues. The Xbox appears to still work very well with other games. I am still playing offline and in single player mode, so communication issues with the internet should not be a factor with this. I am increasingly suspicious that many of these issues are related to some sort of error(s) in the world generation code.

I have been experiencing lighting bugs too. I fell down a hole in the daytime and it was completely dark. I mined a block and the lighting returned to normal. I also had cleared out glowstone placed in a cave, but there was a completely lit up spot in the wall even though there were no light sources. I had to mine a block to get the lighting to work right.
ok heres the most annoying bug yet to me
you cant trap animals
ive tried and tried but wolfs.....get out
sheep ....get out
cows, chickens, pigs, creepers, zombies you name it they all get out of whatever trap you put them in even if you put them in a trap that if you yourself were in you cant get out they still can get out because ive tried but my sheeps always dissapear and with animal breeding coming up i would hope they fix this so that you can trap animals to get food leather and mostly wool but yeah that bug suck donkey * so yeah plz aware mojang or whoever and tell them that this is a major bug that annoys the crap out of me and im sure others as well.
p.s.ive only tried this on one world but im pretty sure that the others would be the same.

I don't believe this is a bug. They despawn. In a future version, they won't and you will be able to capture them as that's how the PC version progressed.
Some time ago I had a problem with redstone, the system just crashed for no reason. I mean, the resdtone torch couldn't keep lightned, when a signal came to it, it turned off. But when signal was cut, the redstone torched didn't lightned up again, and needed to be replaced again and again until it stopped bugging.
my pistons have major bugs... i put 2 pistons next to each other and put fence posts on them. when i hit the switch for them to go up and the sticky piston sticky part disappears i mine the piston but when i touch the part was the vanished fence was it does damage. it doesn't happen that much anymore. also when i go to the nether ghast fireballs will come at me stop and flicker. how annoying that is i stand in front of a pigman and then run away so the pig zombie explodes. its as funny as it sounds. And finally, when i was first learning the game i came upon diamond and a screen apeared that said "DIAMOND. can only be mined with golden pick axe or better but then my golden pickaxe deleted the diamond block. i tried my iron pick and the pick went through the block in less then a second giving me diamond. This proves that on my server diamond can only be mined with iron/diamond picks.
I also hate how you can't have farms. i trapped i pink sheep, walked away, and it de-spawned.
Heres a funny bug: me and 2 friends were playing minecraft and my one friend and i were already playing the third friend tried to sighn in to an xbox account so he could play. he signed in as one account but it wouldn't let him play. So he signed into another account then it let him play but the problem was now there are 3 players but 4 characters in the game. long story short, basically we had the acount entitled "Dennis" Following account entitled "player 6" but "Dennis" would not punch when "player 6" would punch. "Dennis" would only follow. When "player 6" would punch damage both players would be damaged. how weird s that? 4 accounts for 3 players.
Also on my server i am finding random floating sand bricks. and when i find a sand brick i mine a block under it but then it floats there
and when i dump a bucket of lava, the lave turns invisible. as soon as i walk near it i burst into flames and the lava reappears.

There is an edit button instead of posting 4 times wtf, farming comes in later version this is normal behaviour for passive mobs as said on the many pages before ( and even a few posts above yours did you even read it?)
the sand blocks in the air are terrain generation bugs, quite common.
Try running it from a USB stick and see if this corrects the issue
I changed it over to the thumb drive, but it still does it. Not as much but it still freezes. I hear there might be a new bug fix update coming. Hopefully this new bug fix will make the neccessary changes.

Hardware can be a big issue when it comes to freezes. Any chance that the cables have been moved or bumped? (To download updates, I have to move my XBox to another location, so if the cables aren't hooked up solidly, I know first hand that wierd things like random freezes can happen, so I usually start with double checking all the connections.)
Another possibility - How old is your XBox? Could it be developing some harddrive issues.
Another possibility - How clean is the fan? Does the XBox have lots of air circulation room around it? While things in the newer XBoxes have certainly improved, overheating problems have been a common issue with the older ones... and all computer systems do better if they are kept clean and have lots of room to breathe.

I'll double check the cords and check to see if it is dusty. As far as how old, I've turned this unit in twice for the red ring of death. However the last time I turned it in, was about 3 years ago. Since then I've not had any problems. The hardrive is a brand new one I purchased about 6 months ago. I went with the 250 GB size from microsoft. I've been thinking about the age of this unit, but everything else seems to be working fine. This weekend, I'll play numerous games and really give it a good workout to see if any of those games and old saves lock up or if it's just Minecraft.
Something i've just noticed when building a mineblock studio song on the the xbox is Noteblocks do not trigger from a pulse when connected to a powered block. They only trigger when a pulse is fed into it in a direct line. They can be triggered by powered blocks on the PC so unless this is fixed in a later update for Xbox I will say it is a bug?
This is not a bug it is the same deal with pistons in the current version redstone must feed directly into the noteblock for it to trigger one thing i do that works well especially if you are in a tight space is put redstone repeaters going into the block this insures there will be no interference from other redstone charges

It might be to prevent suffocation.
