Do you happen to remember if it was doing that before the update? I don't recall that it was, it stuck out right from the load of the game for me. I'll try to get some later too. If I stand in the right place, some are very easy to read and some are dark and blurry.
I can't remember, but you could always find out by clearing the system cache, thus removing the updates, and then opening up the tutorial world and looking at some signs in there (or making some if there aren't any). Just be sure to refuse the update when you start the game back up after clearing the cache.
And it would probably be a bad idea to open any worlds you played post-patch until. After you exit and re-apply the patch.

Thanks! I'll try that out later and see what happens.
Has anyone else noticed signs look different from a distance? Trying to figure out if this issue is my system or in general. Updated and played for the first time in a few days last night and the text on mine signs changes as I move further and closer to them. The further I go, the darker and blurier the text gets. Same thing happens if I am at an angle looking at them. I have a storeroom with 30 chests/signs. My brother logged into my game and the same thing was happening with him. I rebooted the system and loaded the game a few times as well. I tried to get screen shots but facebook and my xbox weren't getting along last night. Thanks!
I've noticed this as well but I just assumed that's how the engine works.
Honest questions - how many of you reporting bugs after the patch have EVER used a dupe glitch in the world in which you are experience the bugs? - How many of you are reporting bugs on builds that would be considered extreme (i.e huge world save files with miles of redstone, etc.)?
I'm trying to determine if I should reject the bugfix and play offline until they fix the fix. However, I've never seen half the bugs people talk about on this list. I've never had a freeze or random death and my simple redstone circuits (xor gates and T flips) all seem to work. I suspect I'll have no problems with the bugfix because I don't push the system to the extreme, but all I'm seeing about this bug fix is complaints, and that's unusual.
I have had bugs from the beginning I have lost two worlds this way no duping in either the last one had some I found the the chest with the items and deleted them it did not help it is not all related to duping.
malicious intent dupes -
Part is a dupe crash it is were some one dupes in a part of your map and carries a stack of 196 and places it in a chest of your and leaves the game with out telling you, this will cause any build in that areas to prevent a reload, you must find that chest and remove the item if they are all the same burn them all with lava, save to a new stick and try to reload if it reloads build in that area, save and reload if it reloads then you have have it go to each area find all your chess and do the same till it is cleared.
The only way I was able to find this was for the next reason below. Once I spotted the issue I was able to go back and fix it. if I had not had a save that still loaded this would not have been possible.
I do know what the next part it is related to I cannot post it here it is against the terms of service here to post it here. if some one whats to get to me on it I will let them know I how I fixed it and what it is related to.
it still may be possible for those people who did not mod there maps, or inventory like me to use the non posted fix even thought it does not load to get it to load or the Dev may be able to come up with a fix for this, so don't delete your save!
malicious intent items
I also found a block out side the map that was easy to remove put there by a guest and left with a piston that did not resolve the reload issue that did resolve the repeated crash issue though, it took two people to find it walking the edge and in some cases swimming reload invite over and over till we found it.
Because on a failed load the dev should be write some code to dump the user and multi-player carried inventory and leave only the map and the game should load again. leaving you with your world in tact again
malicious intent Modding or item injection -
A filter needs to be added as well some multi-player users have found a way to bring modded items to users maps and kill the maps as well pig spanners and what not.
I do not know how they are getting this in be it J-tag or what or just a simple edit to the game on there side I have yet to figure this one out..
I players items needs to be set to null then added from the host not from the guest and they are circumventing this.
Some people can not be booted and they let you know and start to destroy your map all you can do is reset an lose your work because of the friend of friend and you do not know till it is tool late to save.
the lowest save time is a bother and the next you can get allot done!!!!!!!!!
i have also experienced the glitch where i cannot hit big slimes and i find it quite annoying because i can only seem to kill them with a bow and arrow most of the time, very rarely can i actually hit them without shooting them.
Things i have experienced that i feel may be or are glitches:
1. for most players who are newly joining a server with signs on it, the signs sometimes appear blank for the new player.
2. lava being able to set things on fire even if there is an insulator block (a block between the lava and the flammable object)
3. slimes spawning invisible and being able to push you.
4. slimes spawning above the 40 block limit and being able to push you but not damage you, does not split or drop slimeballs upon death. (i have not seen this but a few friends in my servers have told me this happened)
5. dogs teleporting inside transparent blocks to get near you.
6. drowning while air bubbles are full (i find this happens when you have already drained some bubbles underwater and you just tip the top of the water, refilling your bubble meter but not your actual air, causing the drowning countdown to continue from where the bubbles were at before it was "refilled". i find you can avoid this by going fully up for about a second before diving back down.)
1.) I just realized I don't have one single cactus in my world but I need them for my spidertrap. So is there any chance in a future update that at least one appear in my world?
I can't make a new world because I spend like 200+ hours in building stuff and don't wanna do it again.
2.) Also, there's only enough clay for one stack of bricks (64) which isn't enough to build something decent.
3.) When I put two doors next to each other and put a pressure plate on the ground one door opens and never closes.
I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. I'm from Germany, so my English isn't the best.
newly generated worlds may spawn without things such as deserts/cactus's, snow, and bountiful clay. the only way to change that is getting a new world though i do think they should have the seed generator create at least 1 of each biome on a new seed. as for the double doors and pressure plates. a double door seems to be kinda broken when it comes to pressure plates, i find that only one door actually works with the pressure plate so try just moving the plate over to the other door and using that one, keeping the broken one for just appearance. hope i helped.

2. lava being able to set things on fire even if there is an insulator block (a block between the lava and the flammable object)
This is the way lava works. Unless you completely surround it with blocks (glass works well if you want to be able to see it), the "embers" that pop up out of it periodically can land on nearby objects and set them on fire. Once 1.8.2 comes out, you will be able to craft iron bars (think of them like iron fences) that can be used to stop lava and fire from setting nearby objects on fire.

This is the bug that I experience most. When working on stuff where I need to be underwater a lot, it gets annoying because I'll just start dying randomly for no reason with half or more bubbles left.

Its a miss communication between client and server, the client thinks you are above water, while the server correctly has you marked as underwater.

Wait, isn't the server local to your own machine? Otherwise, how can you play completely offline (that is to say, you CAN play without even being connected to xBox Live.)

The proximity of the client to the server has almost no bearing on the miscommunication. I think everyone always has a client process and a server process runn ing when they play minecraft, mostly to keep how the game works behind the scenes as simple and consistent as possible. When you play with someone else your client communicates with the host server rather then your own. The miscommunication probably occurs because the client probably only sends changes at specific intervals and only communicates your current position, not necessarily where you were during that interval. So if you go fast enough, the client knows you travelled through an air block but when the server was told of your position, they were both underwater and the server doesn't give you credit for the air (the status of your air is probably not reported often or what the server thinks your air is at takes precedence.) then when the server process thinks you've run out it sends a "you are dead" notice to the client and whatever the server says the client must obey no matter what it thinks of the current state of the world.

the fire is starting literally through a wall, i have a wall completely covering up a lava pool, with a sign on it that says "use caution, lava through wall" and the sign lights on fire periodically, causing the spot below it to set fire. hence it being a glitch and not how lava works. thank you for the input though

then i suggest using my work around until it is fixed, going up to the top for at least a second or making sure you go all the way up before diving back down.another glitch, well not so much glitch as much as error, but in the crafting recipes under decorations, the crafting recipe for white wool through dying is one piece of bone meal and one piece of white wool, instead of it being other colors.
Not really a bug , my redstone door bell stayed activated until the pressure pad was reset so redstone just needs reseting
if you are using repeaters then a repeater may be sending the signal back to itself causing the current to be constant and not go off even after the pressure plate releases. check your wiring because that might be what is affecting your doorbell.

1. I don't know if this is a limitation of the sticky piston or a bug but when I place a sticky piston on top of another sticky piston with a block on top of that, they will not extend together when powered. You can get them both to extend in a manual way but then the block that is being pushed by the top piston stays where it was pushed to rather than getting pulled back down with both pistons.
this is not a glitch, a piston can only pull one block, and when a piston is activated another piston cannot pull it or push it, you would have to run a current to where the second piston would be and set a delay of at least one click using a repeater on the second piston in order for the first piston to activate then the second one to activate pushing up the second block, but with a delay like this the bottom piston will not be able to pull back the top piston, so if you had two pistons extended upward and a block on top of it, taking up a total of 5 blocks space, the top block can only be pulled back into the block 4 space, and the second piston pulled into the block 2 space, but only if it has retracted first, sticky pistons are only sticky when retracting, once retracted they will not pull blocks. hope this helped.

In that case, yes, that definitely sounds like a bug, albeit not one I have encountered myself.

6 only seems to be a problem part of the time now not so much now as before if you play off line it seems to effect you more then on line for some reason I don't understand this. So I always set it to online invite only with friends of friends off then you can take it to the last bubble.

the interesting part is the sign doesnt burn up, just catches fire to the ground below it. im not sure if signs can burn up, never tested it. but its still kinda interesting to watch it catch fire randomly. its actually set on fire one of the invisible big slimes i mentioned as another bug, causing a random giant flashing fire. looked cool but i couldnt screenshot it in time
