Although it only has the red, white, and yellow inputs and requires a computer pretty close, VHS to DVD converts any input (Really, Any) to an MPEG file. Hope it helps.

I use the AverMedia Game Capture HD. It records in HD, 720p or 1080i and does not require a computer. you just hook some sort of memory up to it (either USB or internal HDD) and you're good to go. If you use the internal HDD option you can easily transfer videos or screenshots to a USB stick for easy transport to your computer.
I recommend the Hauppauge HD PVR with some video editing software. Nero 11 Platinum is pretty good. That is what I use. Here is a link to a recent video I uploaded using these two:

I use an AverMedia Game Broadcaster HD for my recordings, and i have no complaints about it. The hardware is simple and easy to set up, and the software is user friendly and incredibly easy to use. I've tried using happauge, dazzle, etc, but I've never gotten anywhere near the quality of the AverMedia products. you can use Roxio Capture HD PRO its good quality same as HDPVR i thnk i record on 480p but u can use 1080p/i or what ever u want u just goto adjust it + its cheaper
