I actually had a problem the other day, whenever I would put a piston down in one particular spot, it would automatically extend, and it would stay that way. FOR NO REASON AT ALL. There was no redstone or anything anywhere around it, I checked.
And then another time, I hooked up two pistons to the same button, and when I'd press the button, one piston would extend, and then two seconds later, the other one would extend. They were on two separate circuits, each hooked up to the same button. I had no repeaters, so I don't know why there was a delay there.

Sorry, I didn't realize that this option was already posted.
Try breaking it down and starting again from scratch. If you're encountering the same issue, then it may be a problem with the way the game employs redstone at this point and my be changed in a future update.
need to know how to use redstone real good, then find your own to rewire that part, that's what i had to do for few of me thing's.
First thing is you need to know where and what the circuits do and go.

This is always a good thing to strive for. The more you practice with redstone, the more options you open up to be able to rewire a circuit that doesn't work.
Tutorials are great, but with variances between game versions and mechanics, they can sometimes be unreliable.

Yes, I'm convinced it is just something that will be patched later down the road in an update. I've rebuilt it about 3 times and tried putting everything in different places

Stop being unhelpful.
My guess is maybe because he's using the PC version and their redstone acts slightly different.
Or something.
Im not sure, I dont know what exactly is going wrong with your redstone so I cant say for sure.

dam girl.....ya but what she said
Did you put the torch in below the block that is moved by the piston?
You need to provide power to the torch to make it unlit. If your redstone wire is off then it wont unlight the torch.
Stop being unhelpful purely to agree with the girl.
yes

Redstone's been acting weird lately.
Is the wire lit up next to that block?

Your response is bad and you should feel bad. Also it may be something up with the xbox version....
