Huge body of water needs to be removed. I have the area enclosed obviously so all the water inside is trapped inside, and all water outside is trapped outside.
I've been plunking sand down, but it's taking forever....plus I'd have to go back and dig it all up.
I tried using buckets. I removed ten buckets worth of water and all it did was create a current. (or so it seems)
So - to the point - what's the fastest water removal process?
sand'll be the fastest way. and you dont have to dig it all out, just 1 column. once you fill it, dig straight down to the bottom then remove the bottom block of another stack and quickly place a torch under the stack. all the sand falls onto the torch and breaks automatically.
edit: here's a quick video, the guy in the video has the sand on a stable block, but you can still do it if youre quick and already have a torch in hand.
You could fill it with wood, and then burn it when you are ready to remove it. Or... you could place 2 blocks of cobblestone at the very bottom, then fill it up with gravel, and when you are ready, remove 1 of the cobblestone layers and place torches all under it... then tear down the upper cobblestone layer, the torches will break all the gravel on the way down. Those are about the easiest ways imo.
