So I didn't really play on the PC much, so I don't know what there is in that version. but I've noticed in the Xbox version there's not much in terms of furniture. I mean there's a bed, bookshelf... and that's about it.
do you guys have makeshift ways of using normal objects to kinda make furniture? Like I've began using wooden blocks as tables and then put stairs facing away from it as chairs.. but that's really all I've thought of. Anybody have any more neat tricks like that?
Because I've been building houses but I end up only being able to fill a small portion of them. I would like to give them a more "lived in" feel.
Do any more pieces of furniture come in any soon to be updates that you guys know of?
+ put blank signs on sides of stairs for arm rests.
I bet you could make a chair out of half blocks and signs as well. I never remember to try that.
Sometimes I use pressure plates as plates on a table.
You could probably also work some wonders with fence posts as well.
Later on there will be enchanting tables, brewing stand, cauldrons, etc. which can help fill some other rooms.
An Idea for a table/My furniture setup in my house:
The pistons act as tables, just put a redstone torch underneath them. Also never though of the half slab with the sign on the back as a chair, gonna have to try that out.

Try these:
-Levers as taps in a kitchen, put over cauldron (when added)
-Potplants by putting down a grass block with a flower then putting trapdoors around the grass
Minecraft doesn't really have many furniture blocks, so we have to make our own

I've been using a combination of colored wool and slabs to make furniture...not saying it is terribly original or awesome but it does add a certain aesthetic.

haha Im way ahead of you on the plant thing. I've actually built a medical marijuana dispencery in my town recently and it has quite a few plants with a set up like that.
Though I've been using sapplings instead of flowers.
Functional stairs? hm, I haven't had any issues with them personally. What problem are you having with it?
On a similar note though, ladders could be more functional. I fall off them all the damn time and usually end up with fall damage. Maybe if you were slightly locked on a bit it would be easier staying on them? or maybe I just have horrible thumbs and I'm the only one with this problem. Either way I avoid implementing ladders into stuff.
didnt have time to load up pics from my game today but i forgot to mention a working fridge dig 1 down add dispenser place items in said dispenser cover with dirt use a block over dispenser and add button voila mini fridge
