yea >3 how can u kill those cute slimes <3? im not killing them till i find out how to use a freaking piston i still really dont know howt o use em idk how im gono learn either ive been googling while staring 24 blocks away trough the glass
Here's some info... Sorry if some people already know this, but maybe this is all new info for someone else : )
I read on the Wiki that slimes have a 1/10 chance to spawn within a "chunk" of map space. That chunk is most noticeable as the blocks of space that appear as you venture out into a friend's newly loaded world. These chunks are 16x16 blocks long and wide, and reach from the sky to bedrock. This means that you cannot search directly above your spot and find slimes if they did not already spawn below.
The slimes will spawn in each chunk of the map at random. The low odds of them spawning (1-10) means that you may be at it for a while. Your best chance of finding one is by making a strip mine at the appropriate depth. Keep extending the cave, and sooner or later you'll find a chunk the slimes spawn in. Good luck, and I hope this bit of info helps!
Youtube "minecraft piston creations". Warning you now, you need some critical thinking skills if you're gonna try to master pistons.
They're very fun but learning redstone and pistons can take a while, especially if you're trying to make your own original ideas.
Took me 2 hours last night to invent a cobblestone generator that spawns them in a row of 4, and instantly replaces whatever cobblestone I break. Took me so long because I wanted to figure it out on my own.
But it's so damned rewarding figuring out these little puzzles on your own.
But yeah, youtube that. A LOT of cool stuff you can make.

I have a deep mine, big one, and found 4 spawn chunks right next to each other (I know, lucky, eh?). It's now a big-ass open room But it seemed like they just didn't spawn hardly ever.
I added in a long underground railway leading to the other side of the map, where I set up a second mine. It seems that whenever I travel to Mine #2, then back to Mine #1 by rail, there's almost always a few slimes down there.
So, here's my theory:
I leave, and all mobs in the slime chunks de-spawn. Mobs spawn in a sphere around the player, with a distance limit, and as I return by the deep railway, my "sphere" first enters the spawn chunks at a lower level... so the chances of spawning first happening at the slime's level is much greater, ergo much higher chances of getting slimes. And with 4 chunks to get a chance from...

Was that directed to me? I already know you found the slime. It was the first thing I had seen. Im simply filling people in on info, if they choose to read. Believe it or not, there are some people that may not know and joined this topic to find out. I probably would've been in their position 12 hours ago.
Congrats bro I found the coordinates for a slime spawn site on my may and it just so happens to be 97% already carved out when I got there, like, exactly to the coordinates. Herobrine probably did it.

In the version of minecraft we are playing....slime spawn in SPECIFIC chunks. You don't have to wonder, or search. There is a tool you can use to find what chunks slimes will spawn in. All you need to know is your seed. Remember that we are still in a beta build version of minecraft. The XBOX360 version hasn't even hit full release in terms of what version we are playing right now.
