I've been playing minecraft with my girlfriend, we've been building a house together. We were both excited of the thought that she could finally use a female skin when the pack comes out. But looking at the official list, it only has like 2-3 female skins at best. We found this to be a really big disappointment. I really hope they come out with more female skins in the future.

Yeah my girlfriend just a bit bummed too, but whatever, i'm sure the minecraft community is 37 males to every 3 females, lol.

This was brought up to, I believe, 4J via twitter and they said they're gonna try to include more female skins.

I suppose you have a point. Although I do think the ratio of males to females is still enormous, this particular game is a little better on that front. On my world there are 4 girlfriend/boyfriend couples, much more than I'm used to seeing on Live.


I thought that they would of had a Cortana skin too. Or at least just a normal girl skin.

You could do what everyone else does and spam the threads lol.

Wait and see what the other Skin Packs will have, then everyone can start raging.

I know...it's tough for us females sometimes in the gaming world. I'm glad they came out with a queen skin though because in my RPG server we have a King and Queen...and I happen to be the queen lol but otherwise if they didn't have that skin I very much doubt I would buy it. I vote they come out with an ALL GIRLS skin pack...that way they could appeal to the girls who play the game...which I think are a lot more than they would expect.

Thank you for bringing out this topic, because it's true my female friends that play this online with me were disappointed as well. Hope they release more packs in the future, so I can help get more people to play minecraft

Here are the female skins in Skin Pack 1.

Hammer - Fable Heroes
Grunty - Banjo Kazooie
Tooty - Banjo Kazooie
Ms 'Splosion Man - Ms 'Splosion Man
Mandy Elite - Ms 'Splosion Man
Nurse
Queen

There are a few others that I'm sure will have their gender left open to interpretation. So it's not like there aren't any female skins. There just aren't many. Skin Pack 2 is already done and 4J has expressed on their Twitter that they know people want female skins. Just wait for the other packs and I'm sure you wish will be granted in great numbers.

Maybe you'll get lucky and get a pack that is almost all if not completely made up of female skins. I'd also like to point out that this is a double standard. If 90% of the skins were female, and very few were male, nobody would care.

I think having mostly male skins doesn't help that ratio. A normal female opposite of Steve would be good.

Dunno what company owns Lara Croft but they'll have to get permission first... So could very possibly be a no.


But it would be awesome though, I wouldn't use the skin, but I am an original Tomb Raider fan. Tomb Raider 1 was awesome.

That's a problem. We don't. Need transgender skins. We need skins that obviously of the opposite sex and have no trouble looking at a player and knowing they are female.

Lol true. A bit off topic but if any girls drops or doesn't pick up Minecraft due to the lack of female characters, then she has an ego problem.

Same with a guy, of course.

I was actually surprised there was no Stephanie in the default 8 skins.

Not really an ego problem, but a problem with sexism. I'm sure some would be offended if there weren't any african American skins, but that's another topic.
