Keep in mind that Slimes also only spawn in (I believe) 10% of the chunks in the game. What I did is just build a mob spawner and collected enough gun powder to create 4 stacks of TnT and then I went to bedrock and blew up as much area as I could with those 4 stacks. I got lucky and happened to blow up the right area and I got more slime balls than I could possibly use. If you want, there is also a Slime Finder which I dont have any experience with, but it might help you out. Here is the link http://extension.ws/...aft/slimes.html
*Edit also, you dont have to make the roof taller than 3 high. When I did research, many people were saying that you had to dig out a room 5 blocks high, but I never did. The TnT will blow the area out 3 tall so dont work harder than you have to.
OK. I do how your say. I find chunck's wheres slimes resp. It's 32x16x3.
Above this place i have mini base, when I wait this 10 minutes. Every time when i go down, check my slimes, it's only one slime, this more than the smallest slime.
I normally have a smallish corridor floor on bedrock and I have loads of slime spawns doing this. I was streaming the other night and I was asked to show a spawn I had so I loaded the world explained how I have to sleep down the mine for it to work and on return to the point I get a slime 99% of the time and low and behold live on stream I managed to get a spawn. My most recent attempt I got 31 slimes balls in 20 minutes walking up and down a corridor I have built.
Slimes are pretty easy IMO if anyone wants to see what I've done PM me and I will stream it
Dont use glowstone for the lighting...as it has the same properties as glass and thus reduces the area where slimes can spawn. Use Jack o'lanterns instead they give off light and slimes can spawn on them. On one of my slime rich areas (I have 3 places with 4 slime chunks together and 1 with 5) we built a 36x36 tower from bedrock to level 40. People often forget chunks go from bedrock to skylimit and the sweet spot for slimes to spawn is actually around level 12-14, not bedrock.plus slimes spawn from bedrock to level 40. We often get several slimes on each floor of our tower. The next step is to make a transport system to greimd them into little slimes and take them to the surface where I can crush them with pistons and get all of their slime balls.
I dig holes in the ceiling, every two blocks, and put torches in there. Works pretty fine, seeing the lack of glowstone (because of the tiny nether) and pumpkins (since they're not farmable, yet).
If you're too close they won't spawn, if you're too far they will spawn and despawn, it has to be perfect. Not to mention it has to be in a Slime Chunk.

Well, you might only have a part of a chunk. Say, you only have a thin piece of a chunk. Mining out the area where it spawns will open up the entire chunk so you have the whole slime spawn area.

Slimes should spawn here, but they don't.
It's on 4 high level. You know, in coordinates on 4 Y.
Why they don't spawn
