Ok, so to begin, i understand that there have been plenty of posts that seem to attempt to address this issue, yet none have provided me with an answer.
For weeks on minecraft for XBOX, my friend and i had built up this monstrous world (huge cave systems, multiple castles, extremely large society) and everything was going fine. One day, randomly, i wasn't able to join his world. His game would not show up on my friends' game list and i would try to join through the xbox guide. I was receiving the error message, "Connection to the server was lost. Exiting to the main menu."
By i'm assuming, i got into it once and then have never gotten in again for about 4 or 5 days.
We've run the test and we both have open NAT, UPnP is enabled for both, but neither have done manual port forwarding or anything like that. Obviously, we've tried power cycling routers and modems countless times.
Are you able to play other games with this friend? I would try anything multiplayer you both have just to see if it's a connection issue between the two of you, or an issue with you being able to connect to the minecraft server.
Other things to try would be clear the cache on your xbox and redownload minecraft.
I am currently playing Battlefield 3 with him and in a party, so we think it is specifically something with minecraft. I also tried the system cache and reinstalling minecraft to no avail. We also made a new map and i couldn't connect to that one either, so it isn't world specific.
I can connect to my worlds, as well as all of my other friends worlds. For some reason that i just cannot pinpoint, this one friend's world is the only one i cannot join. And of course it has to be the best world my friends and i have built
Some things to try to see if its an issure
1.Can your friend send an invite to join the game from within the game and does it still not allow you to get into it
2. Is there anyone else playing at the same time you are trying to enter the game that isnt on your xbox gamertag friends lis or their friends list. If so if you or they add them to your/their gamertag does the game let you play.
3. Check what status the game has been loaded with, online, invite to join party and or no friends of friends have been checked(ticked). If you change these can you get in the game?
At least it should narrow down its not the game if you have tried these. Point 2 is interesting. If you are friends of the host but not of everyone in the game then you cant get into the world.
Thanks for the suggestions. On #1, yes we've done the invite - no dice.
On #2, Nice idea, but no. I've actually watched him leave the game on one xbox, go immediately to the other, and be unable to connect. They were the only players in the game.
On #3, I haven't actually checked this one, but since we can connect using the other xbox, doesn't this rule that issue out? Although, I do have one more piece of info I just discovered: The friend can connect just fine to games my kids host on the problem xbox, it's only going the other way that we have a problem.
Sme thing happenes to me. I'm on my Xbox one and I have been in my friends world and put a lot of good work into it. And now randomly when I click join, the loading bar sts there for about 2 minutes and then it says that connetion to server was lost, exit to the main menu. We have tried to invite me through party invite and everything but nothing seems to work. I have been reader hung this for about and hour and have found no help what's so ever. The NAT change does not help at all either... It scares me very bad that this will be like that forever... Someone help please!
I am kind of having a problem around the same area. But, in my case it's trying to join a friend's world which is shown as open 2/8 players in. I "join" but instead got connected to a random person's game, they were all alone playing, and they get all mad. I attempt this like 3 more times. Every time the random person, and It says it's a joinable friend's world even shows my friend's gamer pic, but the world is not my friend's. Like what the hecc is going on?
