Lava disappearing

I have a lava trap door leading into my house and i just had made it with pistons and my lava that i place in the pit keeps disappearing. I would love some help with this

Are you close to the original map spawn?

Try walking a good 15 blocks away and place the lava.

I placed lava further away and it looks to be staying so i guess its just not being able to have lava near the spawn but thanks for the help tho
