The leave blocks have the same property's as the leaves that grow on the regular trees. You have to place a wood block with in a 5x5x5 radius(im pretty sure) . Wooden planks im not so sure about. :/

Ya, it's a port. 4J is just moving whatever Mojang did. I'm sure 4J is aware of some of the early issues (clay, leaf blocks disappearing, drowning in SMP, etc, etc) but they seem to be sticking to the update cycle for anything that isn't visually appealing I guess....

well they could have done some simple fixes i mean damn.

I suppose. Depends on how busy they are actually porting the coding and stuff. Orrr, you know, whatever they do.
I wouldn't mind if I had no knowledge of the PC Minecraft. I think just knowing that we're basically light-years behind where the PC is right now is what bothers most of us, and the anxiety is amplified when we run into bugs that were fixed a year ago.

Light years measure the distance light travels in a year. It measures distance, not time.
On topic: I feel it's really wierd how they are following the exact same mistakes that the PC Minecraft did. They should learn from their mistakes.

1.2.5 for PC was only released a few months ago.... 1.3 is in a few weeks.
Beta 1.6.6 was May of last year (so says the wiki). It's not quite light years..... Maybe we could say it was a lightyear...... even though that's not really a measurement of time.....

1) It's a figure of speech.
2) I was actually comparing the two versions of Minecraft using metaphoric distance the game has covered since its initial conception.
3) Even if my units didn't make sense, so what? I can sprint 100 yards in less than 10 feet.
i can't put cute little plants in my house...
wow.
Good to know cause i was wondering the same thing.

For now, you'll just have to lay down a log somewhere.... Wow that types out bad.

I'm slow today.
Minecraft is pretty dynamic - a lot of those "mistakes" are now "features" people have come to rely on. Like BUDS, North/South rule, etc.
It's better for 4J to port "all the things" than break existing mechanics.
