This question has been asked several times, I'm sure, on the forum but I'de like to know. When the Adventure Updates (#1.82) comes out will I have to start a new world in order to have Towns, Strongholds, and Mineshafts spawn in? I remember when 1.8 came out on the PC and, I might be wrong, but if your wold was left semi-unexplored these new features could spawn in.

Darn a new world well i took for ever i will keep my old world and start a new world for the new update adventure mode cant wait just an awsome roleplay world love it !!!!!! just think about it. it will be the best thing ever!!!
Whats all this adventure update talk? adventure update hasnt even come out on the pc yet?!?
sorry you must be living under a rock, the adventure update is the 1.8 update...if you are referring to "adventure mode" your right that is not out and very well may never come out, same with built in capture the flag. @ OP, if your map does have unexplored, or sections that have not been generated, there is a chance that the 1.8 stuff will spawn in. Strongholds and villages are the least likely to spawn in as those were rare even on larger PC maps. Mineshafts ran in abundance, but I still wouldn't hold my breath that they would spawn in unexplored chuncks. Besides if you have other players come into your world and you don't keep strict tabs on them it possible areas you thought were unexplored have been explored, so the better plan on attack is to just love the world you got now....every nook and cranny of it, and then if it is necessary start a new on for the adventure update and start the fun over again, or hope that when they release that, or future updates, they make the maps bigger or link them via a portal or something so that you can expand onto new frontier.
It's a valid question because we need to know now before we start some grand creation only to find out down the road we have to rebuild it all and should have just waited for the update. On ALL my worlds, I have NO unexplored chunks. The first thing I always do is scout out my new map completely, since it's finite, and rather small and easy to do (sadly).
It's kind of unique to be playing a game and already know what is coming far down the road in future updates! Adds an element of planning to our gameplay, long-term.
