Allow items in your inventory to be carried over to new maps. there might have to be a limit on how many of each item type is carried over so as not to exceed memory allocations or potential maximum block limits.
This would at least allow a better a start on a new map when you've exhausted one.
I just don't see this really improving much. We should be given the option to make Small (500x500), Medium (1000x1000), Large (1500x1500), and Giant (2500x2500) worlds. Kind of like the original Minecraft.
Having items defeats the purpose of starting a NEW WORLD IMO. It's a NEW WORLD after all a new start...........BTW, The world size is limited because of the split screen feature. It would be neat to take items to other worlds but, that's not how minecraft works on any version. Nice thought though!!!!
4J has said they will look into it in the future, so I wouldn't rule it out yet Tekkit would be the one I would want, it just adds so much to the engineering side of this game, which I for one am very fond off. I just can't imagine how packed the crafting bench menu will look with all those new features lol.
I think people are seriously underestimating world size.
The day I see a project that needs more space then the map provides, or more resources rather, is the day i'll stop chuckling at all the "Small map" whiners.
If you're clear on how the math of minecraft chunks work, you'd know that any given minecraft world on the xbox has upwards of 10 thousand (yes thousand) diamonds in it. And that's the rarest resource. I seriously think that the map size we have is fine for the version we're at. You'll never use it all.
Proof? Or show me the diamonds!!! I agree the world is big enough for any project. How about Multiple Epic builds???? What about all the added features of the final release???? Villages, Ravens, Mine Shafts.... You can't deny it will be cluttered with new biomes added.... It is what it is though and we all have to wait and see what happens. That's a good thing IMO
The problem is biome-specific surface resources that might not exist at all (or in extremely limited quanitities) on a specific map. There are XBox maps with very little to none of the following:
Pumpkins
Clay
Snow
Cactus (a map with no desert is rare, but possible)
Dark pine trees
If you have at least one cactus or pine tree, you can farm it, but if you never start with that resource at all, you are out of luck.
If you have a snow biome, then more snow will fall there, but if you don't, you can't ever get it.
I know the tutorial map contains no sugarcane, but that appears to be a glitch with this specific map. I don't know of any seeds without sugarcane.

Great and all except its also been said the reason there wasnt any is because Microsoft wont like them for anything on the xbox... so it wont make any difference if $j would want to look at it or not.
When I talk about transferring them I'm not talking about being able to carry over every item you have in one game.
Like I said there would need to be limitations, like only the items in your personal inventory are carried, and that is the limit to how much can be taken.
Perhaps a limit on the number of blocks that can be taken, so maybe only 64 redstone, 64 iron etc.
Without limitations it does kind of ruin the game and just opens it up to hoarding.
Just enough stuff to carry over to get you a good head start on a new map. Sure there are 16,000 diamonds in a world but they ard so hard to find that if you do have a bunch, and you want to start a new map it might be nice to take some of those with you so you can make diamond tools and mine more effiecently on your next map.
Xfering items is a good idea...just like PC MC.You dont travel to the next area in search of a new build site near a jungle that was just added, you take some stuff you allready worked hard to get with you.
Yes starting a new world by point is to start over. But he is not talking about that he is making a valid idea "workaround" because of the limited world size on Xbox.
I think its doable with a char save option. You save your char ,including inventory, seprate from your world save .Like any drop in drop out multi player game. And yes that would add a new opertunity to griefing.
It would simply make a way to allow you to not loose all your hard work just because of changes we know are comming. On the PC you dont start from scratch every time there is a major update, you just log your cords and do some hiking. As of right now I for one hold off on anything major cool because I know Im gonna have to just scrap it soon.

Microsoft wouldn't let user mods, however if 4J could work a deal out with the creators of Tekkit, and add it as a DLC/expansion pack Microsoft would allow it.
Anyway yes the topic has gone way off (I know I was part of the problem lol sorry about that.)
I would be ok with allowing items to be moved, however I would like to see something like the enderchest, where you would start a new world and have to gather the materials to make the enderchest in the new world before accessing the cross world inventory.
This would at least allow a better a start on a new map when you've exhausted one.
maybe creative mode makes this a moot point?
it was just a thought really.
I don't know what I would do in an endless world aside from get lost.
mods, on the xbox, tut tut
4J has said they will look into it in the future, so I wouldn't rule it out yet
