I think we should probably wait until the xbox edition is fully updated before we start something like this.
The when doesn't matter to me so much, I can wait.
But I hope we get exclusives before we're up to 1.2.3, I don't see why we shouldn't, as long as what we get remains compatible with updates.
This isn't so much an idea for a new "block" as it is a new item. I think it would be a nice touch if rope was added, then if you wanted to transfer between floors in the middle of a room, you could do so without having a big, ugly, random pillar there. The downward movement could also be faster, as if sliding.
I've been limited to using the Slab, Block, slab, block, etc tactic, I much prefer slab staircases to using actual stairs especially since there is more types of slabs than stairs and it can be pretty awkward to build or climb a spiralling staircase of stairs.
What I would like to see is a way to perhaps modify the colours of the fire of a flint and steel, perhaps adding a dye into the flint and steel recipe could allow to make a fire that has a tint of perhaps yellow or red, nothing too fancy.
The colored fires thing sounds neat. Just thorw a bunch of different dye powders into the flame and make it change. o:
Stainless Steel and Steel blocks, however this would have to mean some new ores as well.
Copper and Tin ores. Melt them down to ingots and then craft them together to get steel ingots.
Use the Steel Ingots and craft to Iron Ingots and you would get stainless steel ingots.
These then could be used to make items from steel and stainless steel, think appliances and let your imagination go on what all we could craft, Im thinking sinks, fridges, toilets, stoves (cook only food on them and then furnaces would be for smelting ores), disposers, and showers come to mind (I dont think there is enough craftable furniture in the game).
If you are going to get coloured glass I want coloured sand too. ^.^ I also want coloured stairs who lives in a house with stone stairs with no carpet on it.With coloured stairs we get coloured seats. Im all for using exisitng blocks with the dyes to colour them
like the ideas, but I'd like to catch up with pc then get xbox exclusive content. But things that will probably happen anyway that I want is, the ability to take monster spawners (sorry if there is some way to do it and I don't know), a currency system, locked chest and doors where only the host and the person that placed them can access/destroy. Also the other things people mentioned.

What do you say to the god of thunder? **** you thunder *** *** **** ** ****- Ted Go see it
I would like if it was possible to mix slabs. I.e. stone slab on top and wood slab on bottom. It would make it possible to make ceilings and floors of different texture only on block thick.

The reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

With the locked chests idea, I think there should be a key that can be hidden or something. Anyway, this is a great idea, up the original post and 4J might notice!
Steel blocks and steel ore, steel sliding door(s), elevator rails and cars, trap doors with pressure plates on them, so when a player steps on It, it opens, drops them and closes.
First of all 4J never stated Xbox would be getting exclusive content don't make up false info (if its true where your link?) secondly Mojang is overseeing the development of mcxbla and won't add anything to it that the PC doesn't have, 4J is simply translating the code from java to whatever Xbox reads. Lastly neither Mojang or 4J work for you so they will put in what they see fit. One thing 4J has stated is that they may include mods as DLC so that may be your best bet to get what you want.
lapiz lazuli (if i spelled that right) gold iron and diamonds dont take up much space so i almost never make them into blocks for storage the only time i do it is for decoration but what i do need to store is red stone seems that when i have a chest full of minerals half of it is red stone so it would be cool if you could make red stone blocks 1. for storage 2. because a lapiz block only red would look awesome
[[Please rep up this post if you like these ideas, and be sure to rep up any good ideas you see in the thread that aren't here. I'll skim through the thread for high-repped ideas and add them here. Let's give 4J a list they know the community will like!]]
[[Also, please don't come in here to tell me 4J won't do this, unless you are on 4J's staff and can represent them. People saying that 4J won't add content that isn't in the PC version are wrong, 4J has already stated that they're looking to add exclusive content to this edition once we're caught up to the PC version, or even sooner than that, so content like this being added is not out of the question.]]
Hey 4J, Chikka Bow Wow here humbly requesting that you consider adding at least some of the following building blocks to the game, either as an xbox-exclusive part of a title update or as a Block-pack DLC, I'd happily spend my MS points on the following:
Slabs and Stairs: Smooth Stone (stairs), Mossy Cobble, Wood (raw wood, not planks), Lapis, Iron, Diamond, Gold, Obsidian, maybe glass.
Also please consider:
Mossy smooth stone. Stackable iron fenceposts [[I hear that's going to be in an update]] and chain link fencing.
Wooden yard fences, either of the solid wooden planks variety or a picket variety.
Blocks that can be infused with redstone and made to light up to various levels of brightness when touched or walked on (like redstone ore). Slabs that can be built onto the underside of blocks. [[also oming in an update]] Stained (colored) glass. <- this is a popular one.
As well as a few utility items:
Lanterns that cast light while held in your hand (and need to be refueled to stay lit)
Small oxygen tanks that triple the amount o time you can spend underwater before suffocation damage kicks in.
And here are some popular suggestions from the community:
Different colored bedds from different color wool.
Hope someone from 4J reads and considers these. I think they'd be great as DLC, if anything.
I would also like to see glass panes if they arent already coming in the next update coming
Main thing I want in the game is to be able to make 9 red stone blobs into a supercharged red stone block that gives off light when walked on and, when powered, becomes brighter and sets fire to flammable blocks, mobs and players within proximity.

these two posts are basically the same only how i would have it is like the other storage blocks it takes 9 red stone to make a red stone block it would have the same look as the lapiz block only red when walked on it lights up and sends a electrical charge so you could make some pretty sweet traps. like in a hallway with red stone floor have a extended sticky piston when you step on the red stone block above it it retracts going down a block now you are still standing on the blocks so it powers another extended sticky piston to the side it retracts pulling the red stone in the wall so then another extended sticky piston below it is powered pulling in the first piston all super quick now your not standing on any thing and you fall in to lets say a pit o lava (if you understood that trap)
pros
storage
good for traps
decoration with the new look and how it lights up
cons
might get hard to wire because it powers the block below it and beside
could get ruined because people could throw items in front of them checking for traps like a pressure plate
spike blocks, maby some sort of tool that lets you climb up 5-high walls or lower, maby obtainable from spiders, chairs (decoration mostly but you can still sit in them, cages (sort of like see-through chest but a texture that looks like bars going down the side, looks like a spawner from a dungeon but they dont spin and arent flaming, and if you break it, that mob inside appears wear you broke it. new food items (drinks, etc.) things so you can swim faster in water
