So if i cover about 50 blocks around my mob generator, with cobble slabs.. The generator should work at it's best?
You can use torches, but yeah slabs also work. how about covering up at least 144 blocks around your generator? this includes unlit caves (very hard to find since they are all over the place, trust me) this will definitely make your generator 100% working.
