Couldn't 4J just put a Save button into everybody's menu for any world, but instead of saving the original world, the players could save the current world onto their own hard drives? There's probably many more simplistic ways of doing it and much more efficient ways, but this topic seems like it's been overthought to me.

there should be a sharing system like total miners system so that people cant just save your map and show it off as their own
I don't see any problem with this idea other than the fact that many people would join a world, save it, and keep it as their own world, taking credit for everything. But I do think 4J would also be able to have a page of information on the world, like the original creater, time played on the world, total number of players in the past, etc.
