You can already do this. Log into their gamertag (Yes, they can change their password after) Go to minecraft. save the map you want from them to your hardrive. Then you can have it.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.

That involves a great deal of trust...plus i believe thats against Microsoft's rules. -killjoy-
In castleminer, anyone visiting the map, has a copy by default. It has anything to do with MS.
Though it's worth mentioning that this data was/is added to an overall map file. All maps get added to it. This led to massive problems for players and the dev down the road as players visited multiple worlds, some like mine caused long loading times and timing out do to size.
I imagine when you visit a map in MC, you also gain a copy, but it's in the cache, and is written over.
Since maps seem to be individual files I can see having a copy as very possible and is most likely already done illegitimately via mod/save file resigning.
I believe the dev said they were looking into (along with a few other hundred or so things). Right now though the push is updates.

Seatbelts are not as confining as Wheelchairs. Buckle up.
Like if you are playing on someone's world, you can download their world to have in your game.
That would be neat if they did that.
honestly that would be horrible to be able to save as your own. but i could see them making something like the halo fileshares where you can post a world up for download.
