I think I hit the "roof". I was building a tower and applying the top when I couldn't place any more blocks. I assumed I had reached the top of the map and couldn't go any farther.
What I was wondering is.......Is there some way to stop the clouds from drifting through buildings? Not only does it look weird but is slightly annoying. I haven't put glass in the windows yet if that helps any.

The limit is 128 blocks. There is no way to remove the clouds, unfortunately. However in an upcoming update (1.2.3, if not pushed to 1.8.2) the limit will be raised to 256 blocks, but clouds will remain at their current position.
<sigh> Will have to keep buildings slightly below the cloud line in the future.

LOL Maybe just plan sky towers where no one "lives" in the upper sections or it is meant to only be visited but not occupied. It's too late for the build I have going now but it will look good (I hope).

No, there is no way to stop clouds from entering your building/tower.
