Hey guys so I have been working on this map with my friend for almost a week now and we have put in hours into it to make it awesome. However recently we went to finish it and when he loaded it up it acted as a new world was being created and said like generating spawn and all that stuff. Once it was loaded it was a brand new world with nothing on it in a completely different seed. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
I made a file as sort of a creative file where I just do and make stuff, but what I'm doing now is waiting until 1.7 where you can copy worlds. So I'll have a back up incase my dupe world goes corrupt.

we used an inventory mod, but it worked until the last time we did it then bam
ive heard about that.. you guys f'd up. you cant put in items that aren avaliable in this version from when it was on pc. my friend modded his file a few weeks back, corrupted it the same way.
@hiram, it was a "hack" through the computer to add items to your inventory so we could get like bedrock and stuff. but it was working fine until now.
Hacks and mods have the tendency to do that. Once the corruption has begin, it's basically an overwritten file that you can longer trace back. Regardless, you put it upon yourself as everyone knows that's one of the biggest risks towards corrupted worlds besides duping. I'm sorry for your loss, but it's your just desserts.

But yeah, if you duped that would be the problem.
I believe this is a fallacy by the snobs who consider using a very productive game glitch to be "cheating" (at least in THIS game it's a ridiculous attitude to take).
Yes, if we screw up our saves, we have nobody to blame. We get it. Let's move on.
I have had one game save error when duping, but it was repeatable and I figured out how to get around it and what was happening (I believe I hit a "chunk item limit" LOL).
Anyhow, keep multiple backups of your world, that's the golden rule in xbox minecraft. I copy cloud to hard drive and vice versa daily. And keep hammering 4J to add "copy/rename" ASAP so we don't have to jump thru hoops to do something that should be easy and accessible - making regularly archived backups of our worlds.
Snob? No. Just tired of hearing about "this peace (sic) of **** game", and all the whining and moaning about save files crapping out, when people KNOW that they're breaking the code ON PURPOSE... because they've just got to have 5,000 wool and a hundred stacks of diamonds or something.
Wait for creative, or stop sniveling. You know that this can corrupt your saves; so either don't do it, or don't complain about it when your map goes teats up.

Nope. Never had a problem, and I've got lots of maps. Neither has anyone I know.
But then we never ever dupe.
Inventory mod? There are no mods in the Xbox version. Was this to duplicate items?
It happened to me; the problem was that I accidently added an item that doesn't exist in the 360 version.

aaaaand that would be why the file corrupted.
Try not hacking it (which, btw, if M$ detects, they'll ban your box from XBox Live). Try just playing it.

No, you're screwed man. You modded your gamesave and had no backup. Thats the consequences
